Eli is gonna get exposed this year with his saftey blankes known as Burress and Toomer not on the team, I am excited.  And Brady will probably get the same as manning because although he is far and away a better QB he will also be 34 when it comes time to re-up

I think its too much money, but sadly thats what QBs demand now a days. Even bad ones like Delhomme get ridiculous salaries.

I don't like calling Eli selfish for taking money a team is willing to pay him though.

I see mediocrity.

Never has missed the playoffs when he is the starter for game 1.

Won the SB MVP.

How many teams would kill for that?
two years ago you were arguing that the Giants defense was the best defensive line in the league and were THE reason why the Giants beat the Pats. Everyone knows Manning didn't deserve that MVP, the defensive line did. He had a mediocre game. He played just well enough for his team not to lose and did everything he could in the fourth tom lose the game but the Pats dropped three game clinching interceptions.

The Giants have made the playoffs for four straight years because of a very, very good defense and a very good rushing game. Most of those four years the Giants won in spite of Eli not because of him.

Sounds alot like Tom Brady's MVP against the Ram in Feb 2002 no?

It sounds like sour grapes to me

No because as mediocre as Brady played that game he didn't make horrible decisions that were rewarded by mistakes by the other team that gave him continuous second and third chances.

Actually in that game it was once again the Pats that made mistakes that tried to give the game away. Remember McGinest's holding call on Faulk that negated the interception return late in the game?

And I remember a Ravens team that called a stupid timeout that would have ended any shot at perfect season right then and there and then maybe the SB loss wouldn't  be so hard to swallow. You can say that the Pats gave the game away but the Giants were the best team that year in the playoffs. You can do this for every loss if you look at what your team didn't do and say they lost instead of saying they were beat.
I watched my pack get beat by them and it wasn't pretty. But NY was on fire in the playoffs and played the best when it counted most.

Listen Eli is probably the 7th or 8th best quarterback in the league and he is now the top payed quarterback, I dont think thats smart, but I guess since the contracts arent guaranteed its not a huge deal

Brady
Peyton
Rivers
Brees
Mcnabb
Cutler
Warner
Big Ben

All guys I would take over Eli
and I might even want Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan over him too

This is absolutely true.  Brady wasn't that good in the 2002 playoffs.  The Patriots scored more defensive and special teams touchdowns that offensive touchdowns during the playoffs.  Brady simply didn't screw up and the defense was awesome.

Two key differences between Brady and Manning.

1) Brady wouldn't have made those atrocious passes that Manning got away with (Drew Bledsoe would've, though).

2) Brady evolved into an elite quarterback.  Manning still may, but he hasn't yet.

I mean if your looking for a guy to fade away from pressure, not step into throws because he is scared  and throw lobs into double coverage Eli is your guy

And lets not forget he ranks an impressive 14th in the NFL in passer rating

take the words "i don't think" outta that sentence and it's nonsensical. with 'em in there it's just a sentence that makes you look like you should stick to the fantasy raps...

Well as somebody that played college football I think I know a thing or two.  And i know that each and everyone of those quarterbacks manages the games better than Eli as well as has better physical tools

I mean when you consider Arm strength, Accuracy, quickness, decision making, ability to read defenses, Pocket Presence, I dont think there is a single category where he ranks in the top 5 in the NFL

And I mean quickness for a QB in terms of eluding the rush

Giants had the best DE in the league and it was a big part for the Super Bowl victory.  Take away Manning and replace him with say, Romo, be out in the 1st round.

Take out Burress and replace him with say, Steve Smith, be out in the 1st round.

 ;)

In seriousness, it will be interesting to see how Manning responds to the lack of quality WRs.  I am guessing he will respond poorly.
Celtics fan for life.
