All i know is that I havent seen a single stat supporting the fact that Eli is better than any that I listed earlier.

you might have noticed that there's a feeling floating around that stats aren't an absolute way to actually discern who is better than who. the term 'intangibles' comes to mind -- some guys got em, some guys don't.

i'm happy for warner that he and his lovely wife have found a home chucking it around with gloves on in arizona. but the guy played for the giants and he couldn't throw a ball in the meadowlands to save his whiny behind. he's a fairwather player, a system player, and he happens to have the best receiving combo in the nfl. good times.

meanwhile, he and wally sczczczczerbiak are currently neck-n-neck in the battle for guy who generate the most eyerolls per teammate interaction in the history of sports.

look, let's make this simple -- to back up your argument, please say the following if you feel warner is better than eli: "If I were the GM of an NFL franchise, I would trade Eli Manning for Kurt Warner." considering your passion for this topic i'd imagine this won't be a problem.

If I were trying to win this season, I pick Kurt, especially since we know the Superbowl is played in warm weather.  If im looking to build a franchise I pick Eli

No because with the offense as currently consituted I don't think the Giants can win it all this year

If I were him would I trade for Tom Brady?  Yes you bet your butt I do.  Brady has proved in the past that he can win with no name WR's and make them big name WR's (Branch, Givens, Brown,Patten)

I think there isnt a single team that wouldnt trade their starting QB for Tom Brady besides Indie

Assuming, plax, toomer, and Ward were all back,(BTW I went to college in NY and watched all the Giants games because my roomates were fans) I know how crucial ward was to that team last year.  Assuming All those guys are healthy, I think they have a better chance to win it all with Kurt yes.

You do realize that with maybe one more good year like last year that Warner will probably be being introduced into the NFL Hall of Fame someday, right? He's a 4 time Pro Bowl QB, including last year. He's a two time NFL MVP and he's been a 1st team All-Pro twice. He has, like Manning been a SB MVP.

Next year he will probably surpass 30000 passing yards and 200 TDs while having only about 130 interceptions and having a career completion percentage over 65%. These are accomplishments(MVPs, 1st team All-Pros, HOF, completion %s) that Manning will never ever accomplish because he's just not that good.

If I were a GM right now I would take Warner over Manning in the short term for a variety of reasons. Long term, probably not.

1 - He's cheaper
2 - He's a better passer
3 - He's a better leader on offense
4 - He plays a position where age isn't as important as it is in other positions in the NFL.

Long term I would have to go with Manning.

So if you were the GM of the Giants, you also would trade Manning for Warner?

you already said you would, forgetting that warner was aweful when he played for the giants -- totally unable to handle the conditions -- and they cut him loose. everyone's entitled to an opinion, and yours is that you'd trade eli manning for kurt warner because the superbowl is going to be somewhere warm this year.

nick can answer this question for himself, if he'd like.

right but it did allow me to convince you to public state that you'd trade eli manning for a 38 year old guy who's shown he can't play in new york.

So you are saying if the cardinals played in Ny Warner wouldent do well?

if they played in giants stadium they wouldn't have run their offense.

but i have no interest in the cardinals. this thread is about eli's value. and you clearly don't like him, don't see his value to the giants, which is why you don't see why the giants are paying him premiere QB money. That simple. Move on.
