pasting this thought from the sheed presser thread:

Was it just me, or when asked about the arms race in the East, did Doc mumble:
"Well, I dont want to say too much", while glancing at Ainge.

hmm.... do i see smoke?

What do you mean?

I just want a decision now. Yes or no. If yes, I'm excited to have him. If no, several free agents have signed already, so it's about time to sign a decent backup wing.

my feelings also..if it is no...then lets get on with plan B

I could of sworn I saw a knowing glance from Doc to Danny, when Doc mumbled that he didn't want to give away to much with regards to the free agent / trade arms race in the East.

I think something else is cooking. Hopefully a Hill signing.

What I want to know is, how can they be "progressing"?

It's a pretty simple conversation:  "Grant, the most we can offer you is 2 years and roughly $4 million.  What do you think?"

I mean, there's absolutely nothing to negotiate.  It's a take-it-or-leave-it thing.

As long the player is decent and can get it done for 20 minutes a night, I'm fine. I guess Danny and Doc know what they're up to, and if it isn't Hill, I think they will go immediately after their top priority wing.

Yeah, I also had some thoughts about this. I think by "progressing" he means that he's in the process of making up his mind/having an argument with his wife.

There are sign and trade possibilities.

I can't imagine that Phoenix would want to take back salary from us, though.

I'm not interested in a sign and trade, sorry Grant 2 million a year is about what you are worth.

I'm right there with you.  I'm Tanguay/Hill fatigued at this point.

Progressing = vague.

Seriously, this could mean anything.  Hill can be progressing through talks with a lot of teams at the same time.

Dear Grant,

Be a winner...not a Knick or a Sun or whatever.

Taking back some of our expiring deals along with Giddens or Walker and a couple of second round picks might be attractive to them.
