Eric Gordon has declined his $3.4 million player option with the Phoenix Suns for the 24-25 season to become an unrestricted free agent. Gordon averaged 11 points on 37.8 percent shooting last season with the Suns.
Last offseason, Gordon also received interest from the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks.
Good. I don't think they treated E Gordon that well in Phoenix. Games were he was playing well but the coach just benched him for no reason. So many other guys needing shots that he would become peripheral at times. He can get a better role elsewhere.
I like him for all three of those teams mentioned above. He'd be a great fit on all three squads. They all need more shooting. E Gordon could challenge M Beasley for a starting role in MIL. Good bench option in Minnesota and LAL. The Lakers need another veteran bench guard alongside Gabe Vincent. Their other guards are kids (Bronny, Max Christie, Hood-Schifino). Eric Gordon's shooting would be a great fit next to LeBron.
I imagine Eric Gordon in Minnesota would mean no out and out backup PG with N Alexander-Walker playing the backup PG minutes in a two two-guard backcourt next to E Gordon and/or Ant whenever Conley rests. That would be bad news for Rob Dillingham but I am not sure Minny should be depending on him anyways. He might need time.
