Not technically an off-season move, but Charles Lee to Hornets as HC.

I'm not actually sure it was a good trade for either team.  I mean OKC got smaller and while Caruso is an awesome defender it isn't like OKC had a weakness there.  SGA is arguably the best guard defender in the sport and Dort is a very good if not great wing defender.  Giddey is still just 21 also.  Solid rebounder and passer and even with a poorer 3 point percentage was actually a fairly efficient scorer.

I like the Bulls getting younger, but I'm not sure that was the best use of the Caruso contract.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Giddey?s stock is low. He?s def more talented than Caruso, who is a perimeter defensive specialist. Caruso is more useful than Giddey, who looked unplayable in the playoffs this year.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Have to think OKC is trying to move away from the legal drama surrounding Giddey and Bulls looking to add young potential they could control.

I assume there's a pick involved going to OKC? Or was it a one to one swap?

Maybe OKC is trying to be like the C?s with excellent perimeter defense. It?s a copy-cat league and the copying of the champs has begun.

Alex Caruso is a good player for OKC. I think Giddey can be a really good play when that shot develops...

Idk about you guys but I found this hilarious:

The Philadelphia 76ers' interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly waned in recent days, and the franchise is expected to be aggressive elsewhere with its salary cap flexibility and draft capital leading into next week?s NBA Draft, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

If I had to guess, he probably already told them "no thanks"

Guess the Embiid-George pregame stint on ESPN in one of the Finals games didn't help. I'd love to see George go to Orlando, he'd be an awesome fit there and mentor to that young squad.

As for PHI, I think they are gonna just have to overpay 1 or 2 role players and hope it works with that + Embiid and Maxey. What other max player can they target in FA or trade realistically?

Don't like that deal much for Chicago.  Maybe I'm underselling Giddey's potential with the ball in his hands more often.  I acknowledge that he's young and he didn't get a chance to do what he's best at last year as a fourth/fifth option.  I'm just not a big fan of the guy... and that's without touching the, um, 'situation' he got himself into last year.

Meanwhile Caruso is one of the best roleplayers in the league.  Some availability concerns maybe - he's missed significant time in the past, and though he has been better over the last couple of years, he's one of those reckless energy types like Smart or Nesmith where I wonder how long he can last playing that way.  But while he's playing, he's extremely useful and should make OKC better.

Some "didn't want him anyway" energy from the Sixers, given George's recent comments on his podcast.  I suspect that PG wants nothing to do with Morey and Philly is trying to spin it as disinterest from their end.

Morey has had history with the likes of CP3 and Harden in the past (not all good) and I'm sure those guys have mentioned it and/or cautioned others about him, including George. It's a players league and players talk, and quite a few of them have or had Clippers connections too (CP3, Harden, George, Kawhi, etc.). George would have been an awesome get for PHI. Idk what CP3 plans to do but if the Sixers could add him and another player I think they have something. But again, is CP3 also not interested in going PHI because of Morey?

PG pretty much said that on his podcast - that players talk and will warn you about going to certain franchises and dealing with dishonest GMs. In other words, Harden told him to avoid Philly.
