Idk about you guys but I found this hilarious:

The Philadelphia 76ers' interest in pursuing Paul George has significantly waned in recent days, and the franchise is expected to be aggressive elsewhere with its salary cap flexibility and draft capital leading into next week?s NBA Draft, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

If I had to guess, he probably already told them "no thanks"

Guess the Embiid-George pregame stint on ESPN in one of the Finals games didn't help. I'd love to see George go to Orlando, he'd be an awesome fit there and mentor to that young squad.

As for PHI, I think they are gonna just have to overpay 1 or 2 role players and hope it works with that + Embiid and Maxey. What other max player can they target in FA or trade realistically?

Some "didn't want him anyway" energy from the Sixers, given George's recent comments on his podcast.  I suspect that PG wants nothing to do with Morey and Philly is trying to spin it as disinterest from their end.

Morey has had history with the likes of CP3 and Harden in the past (not all good) and I'm sure those guys have mentioned it and/or cautioned others about him, including George. It's a players league and players talk, and quite a few of them have or had Clippers connections too (CP3, Harden, George, Kawhi, etc.). George would have been an awesome get for PHI. Idk what CP3 plans to do but if the Sixers could add him and another player I think they have something. But again, is CP3 also not interested in going PHI because of Morey?

I bet George ends up in Miami or stays in LA. He does not look like the type of guy who would leave a warm weather big market city to go to a place like Philly

Dallas could be a dark horse.

Maybe some sort of S&T where DAL gives up Kleber, Washington and Hardaway Jr + Picks to acquire him. Pretty sure the salaries match doing that as well. George opts-in to his final season then later signs an extension and DAL has a Big 3 of Irving/Doncic/George with a few pieces still in place (Lively, Gafford, etc.)

Now I'm absolutely not a cap expert and have no clue if this is realistic, but just spitballing.

They don't have the draft capital and that's not the best offer out there.

Have to think OKC is trying to move away from the legal drama surrounding Giddey and Bulls looking to add young potential they could control.

I assume there's a pick involved going to OKC? Or was it a one to one swap?

Alex Caruso is a good player for OKC. I think Giddey can be a really good play when that shot develops...

Great get for OKC. I wonder if Dort could be on his way out? Dort for Allen?

Then George just leaves and the Clippers get nothing. If George wants to go to Dallas, then that isn't a terrible move for the Clippers.

Nothing about Caruso being good for them or not, I just don't see how you trade a 21yo with potential, who you picked at #6, who'll be a RFA for a 30yo Alex Caruso straight up who also has only 1 year on his contract.

It's not like Giddey has been a flop, he's been overall solid for them. So something else should be driving this trade, so I imagine a pick at least to be involved otherwise... and maybe even then.

Jeez. That is a lot of money for a one-way bench player.

Giddey is a good short term option, but are they viewing him long term over Lonzo?

I'd love to get Lonzo on the Celtics, but obviously that can't happen  :'(

Monty Williams fired as Detroit HC.

Monty Williams getting fired was a shock. He was owed a huge amount of money and it is not like Detroit is ready to compete for anything anytime soon. Why take the financial hit?

I don't know how much of a get Paul George is at this point. He is very good but not great. He will cost a ton of money. I wonder if a team like Philly is not better off going after 2-3 quality role players instead of a 3rd star like PG13.

Philly already run a two-man offense. There is not a lot of touches / shots for the 3rd star. They refused to involved either Tobias Harris or Buddy Hield in the playoffs. Both of whom are 17-20ppg capable scorers.

Feels to me Philly are better off letting their two stars being high usage offensive engines and letting the rest of the team being high end glue guys rather than pursuing a 3rd star in PG13.

Zero interest on Lonzo, not only is he an injury risk, we don't know if he can even play at this point. And I haven't even touched how nauseous will it be having to deal with the Ball family. More than that, I've never liked much of him as a player.

Easy pass.

My guess is that character concerns might have played in.  Everybody knows he slept with that 15 year old, even if it couldn't be proven.

I?m just amazed that Presti was able to get Caruso without giving up any draft compensation.
