Is Cam Johnson now the best player on the Nets?

G: Schroder
G: Cam Thomas
F: Cam Johnson, Bogdanovic
F: D Finney Smith
C: Nic Claxton

That is not a pretty looking team heading into next year.
15 win team right there?plus u should do a thread with all the team lineup like this
I disagree. Think they win in the low 30's

The Nets won 32 games this past season with Bridges. There is no way they reach that same win total without him. They'll be lucky if they reach the low 20's.

Washington have a new look team after draft day

G: Brogdon, Tyus Jones
G: J Poole
F: Coulibaly
F: Kuzma
C: A Sarr

That three guard backcourt might be the worst defensive trio of guards in the league.

I am excited to see Sarr. I always like seeing skilled athletic big men. He will fun. He will surely be too raw to lead and organize their defense / interior play though. So they probably get beaten up in there as well.

Avdija is gone who was their best defender. Big opportunity for Coulibaly. I see him more as a role player than as a star but he is very young. It will be interesting to see if he can take a step forward for them.

So far, I am thinking this team will be the worst team in the league next year. Oh or maybe Detroit. They are awful as well.

At least WAS have two young prospects in prime roles this year with Sarr and Coulibaly. It was flat out depressing to watch them try to win with Poole & Kuzma as their two best players. At least now there is some promise for a better future.

New Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick has reportedly denied an allegation that he called a woman the N-word during his time at Duke University.

Redick, a longtime NBA shooting guard, was introduced as the Lakers coach on Monday, replacing Darvin Ham. He has no prior coaching experience in the league, working as a podcaster and ESPN analyst since ending his 15-year playing career.

The allegation that Redick used the N-word came from Lakers fan and Duke alum Halleemah Nash, who wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter: ?I?ve only been called the N word to my face by a white man once in my life and it was on the campus of Duke University while I was doing work with the basketball team.

?And today he was named the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. What a world.?

I'm a big believer in "allegations aren't evidence", but we'll see if this does any damage.

Tyus and Poole must really suck, because Brogdon was the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.  He's a [dang] good defender, despite getting traded around like rag doll.

If true, you would think this would have come out when JJ Redick was the most hated college athlete in the country, or when the Duke lacrosse scandal was dominating the news.  There was the perfect audience for these allegations back in 2006 (though this is alleged to have happened in either '03 or '04), so to not hear about it till now seems odd to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Rockets just got AJ Griffin from the Hawks for the 44th pick.

My valuations of players and picks are just way off. I liked some of what AJ Griffin has shown. This makes no sense to me though. When are the Rockets going to play him?

Atlanta are strange. You would expect a team with the #1 pick to come back much stronger or at least much more exciting than they were a year ago. I am not sure anything with that team has changed.

How do others feel about Atlanta?

G: Trae Young
G: D Murray, Bogdanovic
F: Risacher, D Hunter
F: Jalen Johnson, S Bey
C: Capela, Okongwu

They've got to break that team up.  It's mediocre with limited upside.

Not great from me. I like many of the individual pieces for them, but something is off with the team and they need a reset.

(1) Outside shooting

Risacher shot 47% on 3s in the first half of last year.
He shot only 34% on 3s in the second half of the year.

Apparently he took a major step forward in his outside shooting last year (39% overall) after struggling with it in the past.

(2) Limited self creation

Struggles to create his own shot attempt in one-on-ones. Limited ball-handling. Struggles with his first step to beat his man. Limited passing in the halfcourt.

-------------

Why the heck is this guy the #1 pick?

He sounds more like a prospect you would get in the mid teens or early 20s.

No quality wings. It's the most important position in the NBA right now and they have none.

Agreed. Calling anyone the N-word is reprehensible, but bringing it up 20 years later? Really? I'm more "woke" than most people I know, but shouldn't there be some sort of statute of limitations on these things? Or at least some recognition that an 18-year old is different from a whatever-age-he-is-now-year old?

Atlanta should have traded the #1 pick. They should have packed it with some big contracts like DeAndre Hunter or Clint Capela and brought back a star. A third star player.

Then trade one of Trae or D Murray to clear the cutter at PG. That would have given them a good Big 3 to start building around. Possibly while keeping some good role players (Okungwu, Bogdanovic, J Johnson).

They could have pushed the team forward.

They need to commit to a direction. They is no commitment there to anything. Not to Trae. Not to D Murray. Not to Risacher & youth. Not to rebuilding. Not to winning now. Nothing. No direction.

That one good season they had were they beat the Sixers was fool's gold and it messed that team up as to where they were as a team.

That guy T Salaun looks awful. The hope is he learns to shoot so he can become a positive on offense & learns defensive fundementals so that he won't hurt you anymore on defense.

I don't see where this guy is going to play for Charlotte.

F: Brandon Miller
F: Miles Bridges
C: Mark Williams

Then even the 2nd unit guys

F: Cody Martin
F: Grant Williams
C: Nick Richards

I don't think he can beat any of those players out for playing time either. Man, that is a depressing pick. That guy could be another Jan Vesely / Dragan Bender and bust out of the league in a few years time. Or develop and maybe become a useful role player. Maybe. That is depressing. #6 pick.

That guy should have been picked in the 20s.
