Amidst all the Belichick talk, here's a hypothetical for you fine folks

Option 1: Draft Jayden Daniels with #3

Option 2: Draft MHJ with #3, and trade your 2nd or 3rd round pick for Justin Fields

This of course is assuming Caleb Williams and Maye are taken 1 and 2. Also, it's a bit weird to me that Caleb Williams still hasn't officially declared for the Draft yet. Will he stay another year?

Anyways, call me crazy but I might go Option 2. I do love Daniels but it's a bit risky and his style of play might not lead to a long career. His stature is pretty thin too (not as big/muscular as the others). You can see what you have with Fields, add a legit WR (MHJ), maybe draft a tackle with your 2nd OR 3rd rounder + re-sign Onwenu to solve the O-Line.

I like MHJ at 3. Would want more options than Fields to consider.

MHJ is basically a can’t miss prospect. Would be great if the Pats took him at 3. Hard pass on Fields, though. Justin hasn’t had one good season and will be entering year 4. He’s not worth a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Would rather get a bridge QB and draft someone next season.

Sam Darnold, Jacoby Brissett, or Russell Wilson?

I think Russ would be too expensive. I’d take Minshew for a year. If Bill is still here, I could see him wanting to sign Jimmy G.

A rapidly declining athletically Wilson will be too expensive at 36? I get he had a good interception to td ratio but beyond that he was taking a ton of sacks, would fumble etc.

I think it's a no brainer, you draft MHJ. I maintain that elite WR's are the biggest difference makers in the league today. I'm not trading for Fields. Since free agency starts before the draft, I would go after Baker Mayfield. I'd rather invest in a known commodity in Mayfield than potentially waste the third overall pick on a QB, that may or may not become a bust.

I wouldn’t say it’s a no-brainer for the pats to pick MHJ.  I’d guess many GMs would pick the WR but they’d have to consider the QB or a trade down.  Even those who don’t believe in Daniels (assuming he’s the top QB standing at 3) would have to consider a trade down given that there will be teams eager for Daniels or MHJ that could provide a needy team like the Pats some great capital. Pats could trade down a couple slots, draft a tackle, and then have more capital to draft a promising WR, more line help, and maybe a qb as well. Anyway - MHJ seems like a great pick but isn’t a no-brainer.

I’m glad this didn’t go on any longer. I’m sad to see him go even though it’s time. Hoping for a great replacement and a franchise-altering draft. Vrabel gets my vote - but I know nothing.

I hope BB ends up in the NFC and wish him well. The BB-Brady era was a sports treat for 20 years. I’m forever grateful.

I hope he goes to a team that will help him get 8-12 wins a year and he can continue to push history. Thanks Bill. It was a wild ride

Nick Saban and Belichick out in back to back days. That’s like Deniro and Pacino leaving. End of an era.
