If Commanders lose, is there any shot based on SOS?

I assume if Arizona beats the Seahawks Pats get 2. Right?

This is from Field Yates:

The Patriots are now locked into a top 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

If the Cowboys beat the Commanders, the Patriots will have the 3rd pick.

If the Commanders pull a massive upset, the Patriots will have the 2nd pick.

That makes sense, but what about Arizona?  If Arizona beats Seattle doesn’t that leave a tie between Commanders and Pats?  I think Pats would get the edge based on head to head.

Arizona's SOS % is higher than Washington's and New England's and isn't projected to change much, hence why they are behind both. They will likely be #4

Ha- the Commies are winning 10-7 in the 2nd quarter. Can Belichick call in plays to Ron Rivera to win this game?

Doesn’t Az get to 5 wins if they beat Seattle ?

Then it’s just a Washington-Pats tie.

I don't think they will tie in SOS. Washington needs to beat the Cowboys. Otherwise, the Pats get the third pick.

But if it’s a two-way tie in record, isn’t it head to head as tiebreaker. Washington beat the Pats this season.

Nope- its SOS before head to head.

Thanks - yeah I just located the rule.

Makes no sense to me that a head to head wouldn’t count more.

3rd pick pretty much a lock.  Who should the Pats take, assuming that Williams and Maye are taken 1/2 or 2/1.

Most will say Daniels or Harrison.

I say draft Penix.  He is the most NFL ready QB.  Pats defense is solid.  They have a ton of cap space to fix offensive line. Draft is deep with receivers, so focus on picking one in the early rounds.

Daniels might be decent, but feel he will take a long time to develop. His slight frame worries me.  Feel Penix has more poise, just looks like a solid pocket QB.  I don't care about his age, that is a plus in my book. Of course if the medicals say he is about to fall apart, we can't risk that high a pick on him, but he could drop in that case to 2nd or 3rd round.

If Pats want Penix, there’d be no reason not to trade down. The #3 pick will attract multiple teams trying to get Daniels or Harrison. Not sure how far down Pats could go to assure getting Penix but the lower they’re willing to go, the more capital they’ll demand along with the #1.

Decent chance penix goes second round…

According to whom? He's #10 on Kiper's Big Board.

Joe Burrow is a guy that rose high in the draft after a great season, even though he wasn't the most athletic guy coming out of high school.

Last ditch question on the pick. If the Rams beat the 49ers doesn’t that strengthen the Commanders SOS?  Enough?

ESPN in their best available has him as 30th best available player.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
