White will be a good replacement for Smart when we eventually trade Smart away. At least there is that.

They can play together.

I expect White to come off the bench but Smart and White will have to play together sometimes. I am not concerned. They will figure it out.

No, if we bomb out this season and move up to the top 4 through the lottery, then they get the pick next year, unless we finish in the top 4 again.  That’s highly unlikely, and more likely they’re getting something around pick 2 this year.

I think people need to calm down just a little about losing next year's 1st rounder (which will be in the 20s - well out of the lottery)... The window is now. We need basically 5 really solid rotation players around Jaylen and Jayson. Vets.

Stevens complete lack of disregard for our bench guys is refreshing. He basically said these guys are all useless and we can get 5 guys off the buyout market that can serve the same purpose. Might as well package them with future picks to get two useful guys. It's about [dang] time.

You're aware that other teams sometimes take players in the draft who actually are good basketball players, right?

It’s JR and a pick in the 20’s for DW.   RL will be replaced by a more productive buyout player.  The swap is annoying and seemingly unnecessary but there’s a better chance than not that the Cs aren’t hurt by it. 

I’m pretty psyched to see what some here think is a very solid player in Derrick White.
