At this point I'd settle for a ham sandwich.

Current ham sandwich is playing elite on ball D, and still making good decisions generally.

Already missing the 2028 pick  :(
been missing Richardson, Romeo, this year's first and that swap since the trade.  White has been underwhelming to be kind and has in no way been worth what we gave up
You've really been missing Romeo?
being a tad facetious only because he's out so often but when he was on the court, his D was as good as White's (at least) and his driving ability got better as the season went.   so far in the playoffs, I seriously believe Richardson and Romeo would have been more productive than White.
White has been quite unproductive, but I take White + Pritchard over Richardson + Romeo. Because I doubt PP gets played much with Richardson

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I feel for White - it's not his fault Brad made a bad trade - so I am going to keep pushing for him. But, man, is it painful knowing we have a total zero on the floor at the Guard position.

And btw, Pritchard is getting more minutes because we traded Schroder, not because we trade Josh. People also forget that Josh was a combo guard for the early part of his career. I'm sure he and Pritchard could have coexisted in the back court as back-ups. It would also be awesome to have Langford come in for 8-10 minutes to give good defensive wing minutes if needed.

  • GOT IT!!!
This guy will probably hit a big shot down the line and people will say see look he isn’t that bad lol regardless he’s way overpaid for his position. C’s are pretty much forced to hope he becomes something more down the line.

Why wouldn’t Pritchard have stepped in next to Richardson, in place of Schroeder?

I read this thread and can't help think of the threads and posts labeling Grant Williams a bust and complete lost cause last year.

Gonna have to revisit this thread this time next year.

Richardson's presence and Langford's defense would've been nice tonight.

I think it hinders our ball-movement (White is the vastly superior passer) and I don't think Ime would be as forgiving of the defence of PP alongside Richardson

Yeah, we only won by 23 - really needed an injury-prone scrub and an end of bench guard to be the cherry on top ::)

So many people just look at missed shots and think the guy's useless...he's added a lot to the connectivity of our team and the switchability of our defense. He can't buy a bucket right now and he needs to but overall he has a great offensive and defensive and thus net rating, 2nd only to Jevon Carter in the conference semis.

Does he needs to shoot better than 39% TS%? Definitely. Especially against the Bucks, they will leave him wide open again and again. But he's a useful player, if not the Tyler Herro type sixth man some might have wished.

Nobody does overreaction, quick takes and wrist slitting quite like CelticsStrong...it's what makes is so much fun to read those things a year or so later  ;D

I agree - White was bricking, but he's a really good passer and defender. Also a good cutter.

Where is this vastly superior passing? He averaged 3.5ast for the C’s in 26 games during the regular season and in the postseason, he’s averaging 1.8ast.  He’s been a disappointment thus far,
IMO.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

So White's passing has been over twice as productive as Richardson's passing. Not sure what else that could be called besides vast superiority.

Definitely would have preferred those two to the guy who led the team in +/- tonight.   ::)
