Didn’t realise his contract was so little money over such a long time. Thought he was the usual short-term contract for undrafted guys. Changes my thoughts on him, basically a free hit

Moses Brown 7-2 with 74 wingspan only 21 runs the floor, rebounds and shot blocker. He will get stronger good motor. Some think if he was in this draft 15 to late first. Seems to have a high upside.

rollie god bless you, but who are "some people"who think he would go 15 to late first?  That is utter nonsense.  This is a strong and deep draft with a lot of really good scorers, shooters, play makers, and large forwards who can play make.   Brown would not be drafted first, and frankly I doubt would be drafted in 2nd round.  I hope he can become decent, but he is a project.
His last 32 games he started them all and averaged 9.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 1.2 bpg shooting 53.9% from the field and 63% from the line.  Obviously playing on a bad team, but he is a 21 year old big man.  Those guys often take years to fully develop and there he was holding his own in actual NBA games playing real minutes against starters.  He obviously wasn't drafted, but he was the 24th rated high school prospect and went to UCLA.  I think you are seriously underrating his potential.
from what i have read, the reasons for not drafting him was some combination of:

-35% free throw shooter in college.  :o
- achilles heel was injured or hurt or something.
- he cannot score when more than 6 feet from the basket.
- he was suspended for one game for some sort of conduct violation.

Wouldn't it be great if Moses has a Christian Wood type developmental arc. Showed nothing, then started putting up great Per36 minute numbers, then kept increasing his minutes while maintaining those great Per minute numbers.

Probably won't happen, his skill level seems low. But with a great work ethic, who knows. At $1.8 for the next three years, it looks all good to me

i think it is the team system that will either hurt him or make him shine. he needs a supporting cast and a defined role.

brown can rebound, very well. he can score inside of 6 feet, very well. he may also be a good shot blocker. the game plans when he is in should build around those abilities.

if the celtics ask him to score from outside or become a passer, he might be in trouble. but maybe he can develop in these areas.....maybe.

Probably more likely to be a Hassan Whiteside kind of development if anything given his playstyle, but that would be pretty solid.

Our hope is that he is a late bloomer, both physically and mentally. Maybe in college and with Portland he just wasn't mature enough to take advantage of his opportunities. Let's hope he's now realized the value of the NBA opportunity he got with OKC after they converted his two way contract to a full contract and what he did the 2nd half of last season is a step change from where he was previously.

I think there are more trades to come but you can trot out some really big line ups.

Brown, Horford, Tatum, Brown, Smart

Everyone overrates the draft.  The fact is the #16 pick is often a bust/bottom of the bench type of player/role player at best.  I mean if you get an Avery Bradley type at #16 you should count yourself as lucky.  And Avery Bradley is just an upper tier role player, not a starter in the NBA.

Moses Brown looks like he can provide rotation minutes at the 5.  I mean he's already proven he could churn out double doubles with only around 20 mpg.  What would he do with 30 minutes?

I really feel that him being included in the deal makes one of Rob Williams or Tristan Thompson expendable.

I'm hoping it's the latter but Brad never seemed to be a big fan of Time Lord as a coach.  Will his thinking change now that he's the GM?

To suggest that Moses Brown makes Rob Williams expendable is ridiculous. IMO.

Some ppl on here don’t like Moses because he is not a shooter.. that’s not his game, he is a rim protector & rebounder..I don’t want him shooting 3s, that’s the others job
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

This kid has talent.  No doubt about it but he's not going to develop into an allstar.  He's tough, has decent athleticism and is a good post player.  He brings more to the table the Kornet and Tacko but he's definitely not as good as Rob.  He's a worth backup and may develop into a spot starter in a year or two.  Definitely not a throw in but definitely not worth the 16 pick at this time.  However he does have enough talent that the sting of losing the 16 pick will lessen if he contributes and learns under Al.
