It's definitely possible for Moses Brown to have a Rashaun Wood development story.  In fact he's about a year advanced compared to Woods timeline and younger.  What he needs to work on now is to solidify his NBA body while retaining quickness.

Oh and develop a 3 point shot.  Rashaun Wood is a relevant NBA player today because he did develop that 35-38% 3P FG accuracy.  All we want from Moses Brown is to hit those open corner threes.  And if he's on the court, there will be plenty of times he finds himself wide open because the two Jays demand so much defensive attention.

Christian Wood is pretty good too.  ;)

I think he's referring to Rashaun Rondo.

I like how he has his arms out on defense...the way Bill Walton always did.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I still think Timelord is the solution at center.
Hopefully Timelord stays healthy.
Glad to have insurance though

6'8 doesn't fill me with confidence at Center.

Cautiously optimistic about Brown.

Moses Brown 7-2 with 74 wingspan only 21 runs the floor, rebounds and shot blocker. He will get stronger good motor. Some think if he was in this draft 15 to late first. Seems to have a high upside.

rollie god bless you, but who are "some people"who think he would go 15 to late first?  That is utter nonsense.  This is a strong and deep draft with a lot of really good scorers, shooters, play makers, and large forwards who can play make.   Brown would not be drafted first, and frankly I doubt would be drafted in 2nd round.  I hope he can become decent, but he is a project.

I hear the strong and deep draft rhetoric often, yet even in the strongest and deepest drafts there are rarely more then 10-15 legitimate impact players who get drafted in the first round.  This guy is averaging a near double-double, 1 block and very high FG% on an NBA team in barely over 20 minutes a night.  I'll be shocked if 15% of the big men in this draft manage that at any point in their careers.

I think people here dramatically underestimate just how many players bust out and become utterly useless in your typical NBA draft class.  I'm not talking about guys who don't become stars, or don't become starters.  I'm talking about guys who after 3 seasons are struggling to get 5 minutes of playing time on an NBA roster.

If this kid can protect the rim, switch passably on defence, rebound at a high level, run the floor enthusiastically, and finish effectively around the basket (lobs, putbacks, dunks, etc) then he's already about 90% of Tristan Thompson (who's been an important contributor on an championship squad).  Far as I can see it seems this kid is already doing most of those things.

Entirely possible he comes here and proves useless, but I like what I see, and at 21 years of age he's barely scratched the surface of his potential.

oh!

Actually looks like a clunky version of Robert Williams.

Also. He got away with a bunch of things there that he won't get away with if the refs don't swallow their whistles.

I think he will be an upgrade over the Kornett and Grant playing five.

He has shown some good games, but as Karalis said, they were playing him to tank.   I think he is insurance for Timelord getting injured.

I think he can run the floor well.   But I have tempered expectations.

Dray and Bam did ok. Also, height is a little misleading. Standing reach is more important - some players (like Rob) have long arms and short necks. His standing reach is reported as 9’4” or 9’5” - above average for an NBA center.

Average reach: http://www.draftexpress.com/average-measurements-by-position/2017/NBA+Draft+Combine/all/60/

P3 video that includes RW’s spider chart. 80% in standing reach for centers, 100% for leaping ability. https://mobile.twitter.com/p3sportscience/status/1009124980523597825?lang=en (h/t hoop vortex)

Rob is a unique player - aside from his hops, he’s got long arms and steadily improving court awareness. If we knew he would be durable I’d have zero concerns about that spot.

I love it when big men do that. Shrink the court.
