If Danny could get that for Kemba, I'd do it.  pushes our not-ready-for-primetime players back to the end of the bench.  cut Edwards and Green if they don't go out in the deal

I would get rid of Grant too, his ceiling is finite and it is not good.  We are 7-2 when he does not play this season.   I think depth is a our main issue.

What I don't understand is aren't there upgrades available for nothing?  For example, wouldn't we be better off with IT than Carsen Edwards?

The question is can you get an upgrade to Carsen Edwards who would be willing to be the 12th man.  Otherwise you're looking for an upgrade to Pritchard, which is less likely to be available as a free agent at this juncture of the season.  I'd be happy to give IT Carsen's minutes, but is that the opportunity IT is looking for?  I'd be happy to give a buyout wing Javonte's minutes, but I'm not sure that moves the needle either, and again, I'm not sure said buyout target is looking to go to a middling team as a deep bench guy.

I continue to see some speculation that Indy could move Brogdon, Turner, or even Sabonis.  Sabonis is a two time all star who is under contract for about $20M through 2023-24 season.  Would it be worth it to offer Brown for Sabonis?  Would that be enough for an all star level big?  How much better is Sabonis than say Markkanen, Colllins, or Gordon (all of whom seem to be available for less than Brown).

To be clear, I have not seen any reports that the Celtics and Indy are even talking, I am just speculating/gauging value.

Wouldn’t move Brown for Sabonis, but I’d definitely send them TimeLord and picks.  Indiana’s 10th right now, and could definitely be interested in a bit of a restart.

A bench player and some late picks for a 24 year old two time all star big on a fair contract, I am pretty sure it will take a lot more than that.  The reported market for Gordon, a lesser player, is Smart and two picks.  Atlanta reportedly asked for Brown for Collins (which the Celtics rightfully did not bite on).

Is the opinion that Sabonis is no better than Gordon or Collins?

I would like Sabonis but I would also like Brogdon?  Smart for Brogdon?

Celts should at worst should be able to nab George Hill and Muscala

OKC are pick hungry and all it would take should be a 2nd

To OKC:  Teague, Edwards, Semi
To Celtics: Hill

To OKC: 2nd
To Celts: Muscala

I would add another protected 2nd if thats what it took

Both would help upgrade the bench

I'd seriously consider that as the basis of a trade.  not that Brogdon moves the needle a lot for us but I would seem him as a more complete player that would fit better with the J's.  if we were using Kemba in a deal to fill other holes, this would make more sense.

Romeo and a first for Gordon.  I'd do that.  Even better if it's GWill or Semi and a pick

I think Brogdon is a good player but the problem is that it is Smart at about $14M or Brogdon at about $22M.

I would much rather do Nesmith and 1st

And I think thats what Danny will do

Romeo is a player Danny had his eyes on since hs

Magic may have drafted Nesmith if he slipped to 15... just a guess

Brown, Smart for Sabonis, Brogdon

Not sure I buy this.  It doesn't seem to make sense.  If all we send out is a young player, that won't be much salary.  It doesn't work with the hard cap tax threshold.  I believe that the hard cap (no tax) number allows for about $13M net incoming.  Hard to believe the Celtics would expend the TPE and go into the tax for Gordon.

hell no.  the idea is to improve the team with both Jayson and Jaylen, not ship out one of them for equal or lesser players

This is true

But could you do a pick and rookie ... then absorb AG salary via TPE?
