Reported that very few teams other than the C's have expressed interest in Vucecic. This really surprises me and he is my #1 target.

Maybe other teams his price is too high or simply just unattainable? Maybe I just over value him or the impact he would have on this team?

https://hoopshype.com/rumor/1474423/

He's a big salary, and his role is harder to fit into a team midseason.  Multipositional guys like Aaron Gordon are much easier to slot into a rotation on the fly.  If you're a contender, you probably already have a starting center, and if you don't, you probably don't have $20-25 million in salary that you can readily move to take him in.
agreed.

a deal for Vucevic would either require Smart with TT or just Kemba for salary purposes and it's no guarantee Vucevic comes close to solving any of our issues since he's not switchable on D nor does he help really facilitate on offense.  he certainly would provide an offensive option other than 3's but since he's always around the basket, that's likely to clog up things around the basket preventing our wings from driving to the basket.

I'd trade Smart and TT for Vuc in a second before trading Smart and whatever else for Gordon. For whatever its worth.

Sure, that explains why the Celtics could be having conversations, but your question was why other teams wouldn’t.

Disagree here. I don't think Vucevic gets enough credit for his passing or his floor spacing. He facilitates a lot of things for Orlando. He is the reason why they were able to play Markelle Fultz (non-shooting PG) and have some success. He is the reason why they were able to play Isaac and A.Gordon together despite their offensive dysfunction. Vucevic has keeping that Orlando offense together and competitive for the last few years. He has been the best passer on the team and often their 2nd best shooter after Fournier.

Vucevic's high post play as both a passer and as a shooter is integral to Orlando's offense and it would be huge for our offense.
^^^this. Vucevic has graduated to the high post and three point line in recent years while keeping his proficiency in the post, he's one of the most versatile offensive bigs in the league right now who will make our offence explode if we have the right coaching.

What we gain on offense we lose on defense.  I don't see Vuc as a good fit here.

Looks like Miami offered Duncan Robinson for Kyle Lowry. Per Windhorst.

Not going to get the deal done unless they trade multiple first round draft picks imo.

Keith Smith says Nesmith is drawing more interest around the league than Romeo, that Romeo in the market place is such an unknown still....

Makes sense.  There's an information gap with the Celtics and everyone else on Romeo -- they've seen him practice and know how much his shooting has (or hasn't) improved, have a good feel on his work ethic (which was questioned in college), etc.  There's much less of a gap on Nesmith, so it's much easier to come to an agreed on value.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
The Celtics also have a 5mil trade exemption too. We could get a Jeff Ennis Wayne Ellington Mike Muscala as well. Danny Has to shake it up. I think if nothing is there he has Horford coming back.

The Magic are trading All-Star center Nikola Vucevic and veteran forward Al-Farouq Aminu to the Bulls, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski (all Twitter links).

According to Wojnarowski, Orlando will receive Wendell Carter, Otto Porter, and a pair of future first-round picks in the deal. Those picks will be the Bulls’ own 2021 and 2023 first-rounders, Woj adds (via Twitter).

Wow, that is a big landscape changer on several fronts.  I am really surprised that either team would do this deal.  I don't feel that Chicago will be good enough soon enough to make it worth getting Vucevic and I don't feel that Orlando got enough back to make it worth giving up their best player.

This may end up taking Gordon off the market and also Markkanen (if he ever was on the market).

I actually think it makes it more likely that both get moved now.

Agreed for Aaron Gordon. Orlando are rebuilding now and this makes it more likely A.Gordon is moved.

Disagree for Markkanen. I reckon this move to get Vucevic is out of their belief that Markkanen is a PF and they need a real C next to him in order to get the most out of Markkanen. I see this as a commitment to Markkanen. A new-agey twin tower dynamic.

What happened to AG though?
