I would like Sabonis but I would also like Brogdon?  Smart for Brogdon?
I think Brogdon is a good player but the problem is that it is Smart at about $14M or Brogdon at about $22M.

To keep Smart won't we have to pay him that much?

Not for two years anyway and probably not quite that much.

No if it was something like Brogdon and Sabonis for Walker and RWilliams, but I don't see the Smart for Brogdon straight up swap being all that productive.

So I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but there are rumors that the C's could trade for Gordon and then add Drummond too in the buyout market. The logic is, the C's would trade one of their bigs (Thompson or Theis) away, and while Gordon helps at PF, you add a guy like Drummond to also fill a hole in the frontcourt and so your frontcourt rotation is Gordon, 1 of Theis/Thompson, Timelord, Drummond.

Sure, let's keep that 3 center rotation so we can limit Rob Williams to < 18 minutes a game. ****.

You're basically trading Thompson for a cheaper, younger, bigger version who we can play 15 mins a night. I don't see how that makes RWill's situation worse, and if anything we have less commitment to playing Drummond than Thompson. I say Thompson because the salary works better, Theis is more able to guard the perimeter and shoot the occasional 3, and Drummond gives you the same #1 skill of offensive rebounding.

Assuming we trade Thompson, Langford and picks(s) for Gordon, then sign Drummond.

starters: Walker / Brown / Tatum / Gordon / Williams
rotation: Pritchard, Teague, Smart, Theis, Drummond
deep bench: Nesmith, GWilliams, Ojeyele, Edwards, Green, Waters, Fall

Now if you can somehow cobble together another deal for a rental (Fournier or Powell) that would be somethin'.

I love Brogdon.  I think he'd be a better fit then Smart on this team because he's a much better scorer then Smart.  He's a good D player and is just as good of a playmaker.  I wanted Brogdon over Kemba and thought he's the perfect PG for the J's.  Problem is Kemba.  I'd love to get Brogdon and Gordon giving up Smart and Thompson.  The other problem is Indy and Boston GM's don't get a long and Pritchard is a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..

This is one I’m not worried about. No way Celts have interest in Drummond, in my opinion. But who knows!

Maybe Danny needs him to complete his 2010's Pistons bingo card.

Will Bynum
Jonas Jerebko
Luigi Datome
Joel Anthony
Aron Baynes
Marcus Morris

Andre Drummond

That is awesome. TP

Brown, Smart for Sabonis, Brogdon
hell no.  the idea is to improve the team with both Jayson and Jaylen, not ship out one of them for equal or lesser players

That may be your idea...my idea is to build a championship team regardless of who it's "around".

I think Sabonis' position, skill set and style potentially make him a better Robin to Tatum's Batman. We could swing them between SF/PF and PF/C based on matchups. Brogdon is a great complimentary 3rd scorer.

Tag along a move for a vet 3&D wing guy and/or we make some room for Langford and Nesmith to grow into their draft potential. It would certainly shake thinks up!

This is true, but is also true that most likely nothing of consequence will happen as well.  DA will say, well we were close but we like our guys.  I fear that we are about to be Charlie Brown'd again.

I continue to see some speculation that Indy could move Brogdon, Turner, or even Sabonis.  Sabonis is a two time all star who is under contract for about $20M through 2023-24 season.  Would it be worth it to offer Brown for Sabonis?  Would that be enough for an all star level big?  How much better is Sabonis than say Markkanen, Colllins, or Gordon (all of whom seem to be available for less than Brown).

To be clear, I have not seen any reports that the Celtics and Indy are even talking, I am just speculating/gauging value.

Wouldn’t move Brown for Sabonis, but I’d definitely send them TimeLord and picks.  Indiana’s 10th right now, and could definitely be interested in a bit of a restart.

A bench player and some late picks for a 24 year old two time all star big on a fair contract, I am pretty sure it will take a lot more than that.  The reported market for Gordon, a lesser player, is Smart and two picks.  Atlanta reportedly asked for Brown for Collins (which the Celtics rightfully did not bite on).

Is the opinion that Sabonis is no better than Gordon or Collins?
I would flip Brown and Smart for Sabonis and Brogdon without blinking

There could be a slight problem as Gordon is now reconsidering his stated desire to leave the Magic, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday on the "Woj and Lowe '21 Trade Deadline Show." Wojnarowski added that Gordon's change of heart likely wouldn't prevent the Magic from pursuing a deal.
