Does anyone know if we can use the trade exceptions in the buyout market?  It may give us a leg up in that area.  I thought I saw something that you can but maybe it was just a dream. Lol couldn’t find anything in the CBA.

We cannot. We can use it in trades and to claim players off of waivers.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Shouldn't the Magic be trading Terence Ross of they're going all in on a rebuild?

Maybe for Thompson, Edwards and Semi?

Source says that with Fournier deal set, and Gordon off to Denver, the Celtics are not close in any other talks. But with $17 million of the TPE now absorbed, it will get harder.

we can go to sleep now because Danny is done for the day.....we are on a treadmill going no where and no one wanting to sign with the Cs.

The media narrative that Ainge heisted the Nets really destroyed Ainge’s ability to function in the trade market. That deal was not a heist, but that is the narrative. It poisoned the well for Ainge and has been an albatross around his neck. Time to move on from Ainge.

It would be much better if we added a GM with a track record of bad trades.

How was that deal not a heist? It yielded two all star players for the corpses of KG and PP..

Who are you hiring to replace him? Guess here is you don't have anyone or anything in mind -- just like bashing the guy out of frustration.

I like Fournier as a 6th man, but the far bigger hole is at power forward. We have two #14's sitting there not playing at shooting guard.

We've gone a few years now with Danny seemingly incapable of paying the price to get a compatible player to play power forward. It is starting to get difficult to accept. Gordon isn't a major star, but he'd have fit into that slot really well, and he could have been had.

Ainge better be right on keeping who he kept. Maybe there's another move here.

Cs had to take Wallace.....terrible contract for years. It worked well for Cs only because the Hall of Famers did not produce. It put fans in the stands for Brooklyn. They got what they wanted. The deal at the time was fair for what both teams desired.

Sexton too even tough he is not ours. Jury Still out on Nesmith and Langford.

I said Fournier was the guy the team should invest the TPE on to start the season. Now 40-plus games later they finally pull it off.

I hope the Celtics and Fournier can make this long term by re-signing him.

Does anyone know if we can use the trade exceptions in the buyout market?  It may give us a leg up in that area.  I thought I saw something that you can but maybe it was just a dream. Lol couldn’t find anything in the CBA.

You can use the trade exception to claim someone on waivers, but only if their contract fits into your TPE, which means you take on the full contract from his original team.

We can not effectively use the remainder of the TPE this season without any further moves as we're ~$2 million from the hard cap.
