Source says that with Fournier deal set, and Gordon off to Denver, the Celtics are not close in any other talks. But with $17 million of the TPE now absorbed, it will get harder.

we can go to sleep now because Danny is done for the day.....we are on a treadmill going no where and no one wanting to sign with the Cs.

The media narrative that Ainge heisted the Nets really destroyed Ainge’s ability to function in the trade market. That deal was not a heist, but that is the narrative. It poisoned the well for Ainge and has been an albatross around his neck. Time to move on from Ainge.

Who are you hiring to replace him? Guess here is you don't have anyone or anything in mind -- just like bashing the guy out of frustration.

we do have an amazing assistant GM in Zarren.

what's amazing about him? what specifically do you feel he does differently than his current boss?

Go back and look for the celtics blog article on Ainge and Zarren if you haven't.  Zarrren has a great rep around the league.  It's insanely smart and it's a fantastic analytics/numbers guy and much more.  Read the article and you should feel the same and if Ainge ever retired he'd be an amazing replacement.

Toronto is trading guard Matt Thomas to the Utah Jazz for a future second-round pick, source tells ESPN.

Nice pickup for Utah.  Thomas is a budget shooter who can add a little depth there.

For Iowa State fans it = Matt Thomas and George Niang together again!

Saw one report that Otto Porter will be bought out & C's top of the list to sign him.  Does Otto have anything left?

Was once talented.

I was wondering to myself if Otto was a better player than Aaron Gordon.

Not sure how much Otto has declined and how much is him being in a bad situation. I do not like how Chicago used him. He has suffered playing at SF in those lineups alongside two bigs. If he played more PF in smaller quicker lineups where he can be better used as a floor spacer, I feel he has a lot more to offer.

Previously, I wish Chicago went super-small with Otto at PF next to Markkanen at C. Run and gun all the way.

Bottom line, I reckon Porter is considerably better as a PF in a spaced out offense in today's NBA than as a SF (with less movement) because of his limitations offensively (outside of spot up shooting).

Curious about the "anything left in the tank" comment I saw about Otto.  He's only 27 years old, I would think he has plenty in the tank.

That’s a hell of a hold up from Miami’s POV.

He’s injured a lot but I think he’d be a good fit here as a 3&D guy.

what?  so the lakers are holding up that trade for Horton-Tucker?  Since when do they want to develop young players? lol.
If they want another finals appearance that would seem like a no brainer.

Herro is a stud, no way I would do that either if I am Miami.  They aren't winning anything this year.  But in a year or two they might be in the mix.

Ira Winderman: NBA source confirms to Sun Sentinel that Heat acquiring Nemanja Bjelica from Kings for Moe Harkless and Chris Silva. – via Twitter IraHeatBeat
That is a nice bit of business for Miami. Bjelica gives them another shooter at PF. They needed some more shooting. Especially with Meyer Leonard gone.

I do not understand Moe Harkless. He can be a useful starter in one place and not even a top 300 player in several other places. What is going with him?
