Quick, everyone, time to dust off the draft board!

Somebody go check on Danny, he may have had another heart attack.

People are being flat out hysterical right now. Nothing has even happened yet. Let's save the wrist slitting until it actually happens. And if he doe leave, so what? We weren't contending even with him, and he didn't fit our timeline anyways, going with our young guys,.

Logic in the midst of absurdity.  TP ;)

Real classy to joke about his health.

Just to throw more salt on everyone's wounds...

I can just picture the Philly fans and our own very vocal pro-Process advocates grinning ear to ear about how that rebuild worked and this one didn't.

Except their rebuild hasn't worked - yet.  We smoked them last year and they had their collective hearts ripped out when Kawhi made that game 7 buzzer beater this year.  Take solace, friend.

That and you could always respond with this:

Philly and Boston taking steps back...Pacers will take a step forward. Nets about the same.

Tough to find a silver lining in all of this.

Reminds me of Portland 10 years ago.  Brandon Roy was among the best players in the NBA, Aldridge looked like an excellent #2, and Oden/Batum held even more promise than Tatum/Brown.  Looked like they had it made for a long time.  Fast forward a couple of years... Roy and Oden are out of the league with injuries, Batum plateaus as a mediocre roleplayer rather than a star, and Aldridge is left to captain the ship alone.

Coming into this year, we had Kyrie, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Horford, and two tantalizing picks.  Now, we have Brown, Hayward, and Tatum left.  All three have lost some luster after a challenging season.  Kyrie and Horford appear to be gone, and one of the picks turned into a mediocre end-of-lottery selection rather than the premium asset we thought we had.  It's hard to watch a masterful rebuild hit an iceberg like this.

Man ... it's crazy that right now all I can think about for the Celts next year is ping pong balls and how many points Tatum might average.

God, I am terrified of Tatum on a bad team -- the bad habits he might build. I do not trust him without a strong structure around him. He is far too in-love with those contested two point jump shots. If he starts getting 15-20 FGAs on a bad team and starts pumping in lots of points, it could get very hard very quick to keep his shot selection in line.

Stevens is not exactly someone who holds people accountable for their choices offensively.

Tatum is someone I most definitely I want on a winning team with the right culture. He had enough bad habits coming out of college. No need to let them grow bigger. He did so well as a rookie before relapsing last season.

Beware a Jayson Tatum without structure and boundaries.

I maybe just talking out of my behind here, but this is why I'm happy we have Jaylen Brown.

Jaylen seems to be a leader in the making, and a guy who gets it, I think not only will he help Jayson Tatum, but Tatum will listen to him despite the age gap.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Not worried about Jaylen at all.

He has maturity and work ethic in spades.

The silver lining is actually quite clear - their team last year won 49 games and was easily bounced in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Bringing the same team back was not going to change things.

According to reports, Horford has halted discussions with the Celtics for a 3 year deal and will now look for a 4 year deal elsewhere.

well, if Horford does leave, the C's are toast.  what a fall from presumed Eastern Conf champs this preseason to a team looking at missing the playoffs and back in rebuild mode the next.

have to say, if Kyrie and Horford leave with no AD trade, Danny really needs to take the heat on this mess.  thought he was doing well as a GM but this past season and current offseason has been a real kick in the nuts for fans

Danny took good calculated risk any win now GM’s would do.  Did he cause hayward to break his leg?  Did he make rich Paul sign with AD so AD could be enabled?  Did he make kyrie Irving leave a turd in the playoffs?  As much as I get on Ainge and I’m not a in Danny we trust guy like some, he put this team in the best case scenario to hav one of two things happen...win a title and run it back this year or get bounced in the playoff and still have the core of your youth in tact in the event the vets want to leave.  If kyrie, Ad, and Horford all sign here, it’s a differnt song.  I can’t see how’s this is his fault.

I doubt Al leaves, seriously doubt that, but if he does, maybe there was something to what I was saying. People were sarcastic acting as if I was saying forums members were pushing players out, I was actually referring to the toxic Boston media and the young guys.

I do find it odd that the two vets, the "Older guys" are planning an opt out. Hmmm...

I hope he doesn't extend Horford. Looks to me as if he's starting over--with Rozier, Brown and Tatum as the core. Unfortunately, he still has Hayward's albatross of a contract. But without Kyrie and Horford, that's a big slice off the cap, and gives him some FA and trading room. Maybe he's looking forward to being a lottery team.

The media and young guys aren't trying to push Al out. I think it's pretty obvious Danny's not willing to pay him what he wants.

Danny is hauling off and destroying the entire team. He doesn't deserve the chance to oversee another rebuild. He either corrects the ship and retains our Stars, or he leaves. I hope Wyc realizes this.

Danny brought this team a championship after a 22-year drought. He's a top-5 GM who, as recently as last fall, had amassed a treasure trove of assets that was the envy of the league. Stop being a prisoner of the moment and see how this all plays out.

You really live up to the "Never Nervous" nickname, don't you! ;D
