  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I hope Danny doesn't make panic moved and try to band aid what is happening right now.

Let's go full on with the young talent. Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and Jayson Tatum. Give them the reigns. Try to move Gordon Hayward and get salary relief, use one of our three picks to do that (Portland might be interested). Fill the rest of the team with one year deals.

Let's sink or swim with our young talent. If they take us to the Playoffs, then we know they are for real. If they don't, then we get a chance at the lottery and add something to it.

I think the last thing we need to do is panic to accommodate expectations. Things took a horrible wrong turn, but it doesn't mean we have to salvage it. Start anew.

I will be here next season just as I was this one because this is my team.  The fairweathers will bolt, but each year we seem to add a few more diehards.

Not going anywhere. But this is a nut punch offseason.

Tearing it down is such a mistake. Is that how you save face? Danny is being laughed at, fan morale is way down, only a splash could repair anything. So instead you tear it down? Can we please see if Morey wants out?

Not if he's healthy and returns to normal next fall. Next.

I used to think that but I think he was a fringe max player to begin with....

I wish him well but he is too redundant with Tatum and Brown in terms of positions.

Hayward was a bad signing at the time to satisfy Stevens.

Not really worth the contract and redundant with Brown on the roster and especially having drafted Tatum.

But at least we still have him!

Still hope that Hayward succeeds for us. He's a very likeable guy and didn't deserve that horrible injury.

You must have been one of the very few people who thought he was a bad signing at the time. The vast majority of people here were over the moon when he chose us over Miami and Utah.

The Celts are going to be significantly less enjoyable to watch without Horford.  He just did so many things on the court.  Definitely my favorite Celtic the past few years.

This news is so much harder than Kyrie being gone.
Yeah, this is a tough one to swallow.

Hope we get to see Al win a ring next season though. He deserves it after taking part in this circus

Yeah I wish him nothing but the best.

Man ... it's crazy that right now all I can think about for the Celts next year is ping pong balls and how many points Tatum might average.

That's where we are now.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

If we go young Rozier has to go. He's complete trash. Trash.

Adding a third all-star was an amazing get, he broke his leg. It really sucked but it happened.

Danny is hauling off and destroying the entire team. He doesn't deserve the chance to oversee another rebuild. He either corrects the ship and retains our Stars, or he leaves. I hope Wyc realizes this.

Danny brought this team a championship after a 22-year drought. He's a top-5 GM who, as recently as last fall, had amassed a treasure trove of assets that was the envy of the league. Stop being a prisoner of the moment and see how this all plays out.

1 title in 16 years as GM. He hasn't drafted a single player outside of Rondo (draft night trade) who has made an All Star team. He fleeced a desperate Brooklyn team and came away with two prospects who may or may not be stars.

His resume isn't anywhere near as impressive as it's propped up to be. Especially considering that McHale gift wrapped us KG.

I'm not attached to Danny Ainge. His tenture here has been overated.

We need stars. Not asset accumulation and college coaches, who transition to the NBA with a college mentality.

The Clippers have a much better infrastructure.

As a GM all you can do is put your team in a position to win. Without KG's devastating knee injury, we three-peat from 2008-2010. Without Hayward's devastating knee injury, we have a good shot in 2017-2019.

When was the last time the Clips were legit contenders? I'll wait.

In an offseason where nothing has gone as planned, I find it unlikely Rozier will go elsewhere.

Yeah no ill will to Horford. This is his last big contract and last FA decision where he's likely playing at a top level. He played great for the C's.

I realize how important Al was to this team and our offensive sets. But he is 33 years old. A 4 year contract takes him to 38 years old in the last yer of his contract. No thanks.

The posturing that Al will go sign a 4 year contract with another team. No kidding he will. But I don't believe another team will offer him this. Thus he will return to the negotiation table after testing free agency and if the bridge wasn't burned, we can revisit matching whatever 2 or 3 year offer teams are likely to offer him is within our acceptable range. Or he signs elsewhere and we thank him for his tremendous professionalism, watch the youth movement (more minutes for Time Lord) and see what Danny and Co. are able to pull off with a bunch of young cornerstone players already, enough room to sign a max player and league exception player, and a bevy of draft picks moving forward.

I don't see this as doom and gloom at all.

Unfortunately you are right. Do not think there will be much interest in him and Ainge can get him for cheap.

They should renounce all the FA's rights and create as much space as possible.

I wonder if a Hayward deal could be made with Indy for Turner. I would give up a couple of our 1sts this year along with Hayward. I am sure he would have a great following there since he is from Indiana.

Then go and sign Russell. I could live with a Smart, Russell, Tatum, and Turner core going forward. I would also kick the tires on Josh Jackson since he seems to be available.

Not sure if we would have enough to keep Terry with the money saved in the Hayward/Turner deal, but that wouldn’t be much of a priority.

I'd rather go with Sabonis. Think he would be more available over Turner, plus I think he's fit into the system better. Not as good of a defender right now than Tuner, but Sabonis has a higher BBIQ, and passes well since that would be huge in Steven's style of play.

Man ... it's crazy that right now all I can think about for the Celts next year is ping pong balls and how many points Tatum might average.

God, I am terrified of Tatum on a bad team -- the bad habits he might build. I do not trust him without a strong structure around him. He is far too in-love with those contested two point jump shots. If he starts getting 15-20 FGAs on a bad team and starts pumping in lots of points, it could get very hard very quick to keep his shot selection in line.

Stevens is not exactly someone who holds people accountable for their choices offensively.

Tatum is someone I most definitely I want on a winning team with the right culture. He had enough bad habits coming out of college. No need to let them grow bigger. He did so well as a rookie before relapsing last season.

Beware a Jayson Tatum without structure and boundaries.
