Just move on.

I feel an AD trade and a season with him is just going to be another circus here with the whole Rich Paul/Lebron/Lakers connection.

I think this is largely an empty threat by Paul, and the reason they’re so strongly coming out right now like this is to not waste another year of Lebron and try to avoid a situation of AD liking another team and staying there. Further, there are definitely ways to appease him, like by re-signing Mook and keeping AD happy here by winning.

But how is this not tampering? If a public trade demand by Paul is tampering, how is him going public with this not tampering? The league should put their foot down on Paul for this crap and fine the crap out of him for this.

But at this point, I’m ready to wash my hands of both Kyrie and AD. Go young and avoid all these drama queens. Not worth the risk and drama at this point.

Honestly, I predict AD has a new agent within a year.

I think I'd like to see Kyrie and AD sign long term contracts with the C's - but no way in hell short term.  Trade for AD with no guarantee of signing and he leaves in a year?  With all the crap that comes out of Rich Paul's mouth?  No way, no how.

This isn't any different that what he was saying at the deadline, just has his name actually on it now.

The difference is that Kyrie now is on the way out it seems so its a lot harder to call Paul's BS and trade for AD anyways.  :-[

Davis was never coming here. Many deluded themselves into being convinced it would happen. He doesn't want to play in Boston - his right under the current collective bargaining agreement - unless the Celtics want to mortgage their future for a one year rental.  That's his leverage.

It does make me a little nervous about letting that snake into the team.  I know he's Morris' agent but this is a whole different situation.

Uh actually its not, that's why his agent is throwing fireballs and they are constantly working the media news cycle to try and steer him where they want him to go.

Its certainly working on the twitter feed today though!

He's adopting the Scott Boras tact of yelling the loudest to reporters to attempt to steer events how he wants.

Not something we've seen a ton recently in the NBA. We'll see how it works, LBJ's power in the league is not going to stay too much longer so he needs to establish his own "power". That's another reason he's taking this tact.

If they bring in Conley...he was all NBA defensive team in 2013...that would be a massive upgrade on Kyrie who was a sieve.

Conley is 32. Guards tend to age faster in NBA.

Did anyone watch him much last season? He looked decent versus Boston but that was extent of my scouting him.

He had a solid all around year.

As an NBA GM you have to play nice with the agents because they represent multiple players - and may in the future become the representative for players on your roster.  Like them or not, you have to work with them or they'll do their best to steer clients away from your team.

Ultimately though it's up to the player. He tells the agent what he wants, it's up to him to do what the client wants - or he loses the client.  Paul/Lebron is a major power in the league right now, like it or not.

But my guess is this is all coming from Davis.  He doesn't want to play in Boston.

On the other hand he's also lowering his trade value which makes a trade for him less risky.
