I actually think one of Ainge's best selling points is his loyalty.

It's on the record he told Red Auerbach he should trade Bird/McHale.

And since he's been GM, he's traded away every C's fan favorite there was: Walker (2x), Eric Williams, Ricky Davis, Al Jefferson, Perk, Pierce, Garnett, Rondo, Isaiah, Avery Bradley, tried to trade Ray Allen, etc.

Ainge should go into meetings with players letting them know this, and then tell them I won't hesitate to trade you and I'll even trade my own mother if I think it will bring me a championship.  Do you want to play with a GM whose loyal, or do you want to play for a GM who will do whatever it takes to win a championship?

Lol, to me that should be Ainge's closer.  Especially since all competing teams will mention Ainge's loyalty as a reason not to go to Boston, got to turn it around into a positive.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

His dad isn’t wrong about the loyalty part, and Davis made comments about the IT trade at the time.

At the same time, the Pelicans have been nothing but loyal to Davis, and we see where that’s gotten them.

As I mentioned above, I really don't think it's fair to compare the two.  Davis has put in the better part of 7 season with the Pelicans.  It's better that he asks for a trade instead of bailing during unrestricted free agency.  I really can't blame him for wanting to move on.

The IT situation was an entirely different scenario because of his injury.  IT basically recruited two free agents for nothing.

?? I don't see how it's any different. If his dad thinks the team has to be loyal to its players, then that has to be reciprocated by the players to the team, too, which isn't what AD is demonstrating by his trade request. You can't have it both ways.

Danny did nothing wrong. Hell, Danny sent him to the reigning Eastern Conference champs to play with one of the greatest players of all time. People act like Danny dumped him on a lottery team.

I think every situation is different.  AD said and did all of the right things for the past 7 years.  His agent is an idiot, but it would have been worse for AD to bail during unrestricted free agency.

I'm not saying that Ainge did anything wrong.  I just think some of us forget how awful the string of events was for IT a few years ago.  At face value I can understand why people would feel negatively about the trade.

I mean, but the exact same thing can be said about AD.

I just think this whole notion of "loyalty" is overblown in the NBA. It's a business, nothing more.

Has anyone noticed the RELENTLESS attacks against Boston for the past week? Since Monday its been "BOSTON SUCKS. KYRIE WANTS OUT. DAVIS DOESNT WANT BOSTON. DAD HATES IT TO"

what's next? Espn is gonna interview Davis' dog? Does his dog prefer the weather in LA or Boston? Stay tuned to SportsCenter to find out the obvious!

It's press campaign by Rich Paul. The fact that this message was sent to an LA based reporter says all you need to know.
exactly. He's not even slick about it

Davis's dad: "no loyalty!!!!"

Danny Ainge: "I flipped a washed up Pierce, Garnett and Isaiah Thomas for Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Kyrie Irving and slew of other assets. But please, go on about how to be a GM..."

This was on ESPN a few minutes ago. Many screenshots online.

We can always tell AD's dad that we'll be glad to offer his son a No-Trade Clause.

With all of the constant Celtic bashing by the national media, watch Ray Allen come out of the woodwork this week and share his thoughts on Ainge's lack of loyalty lol

The rules don’t allow that.

It's desperation.  Rich Paul and Lebron know the Celtics are better positioned to acquire Davis.  It's beginning to look inevitable.  They're slinging 💩 now.

I mean, I could understand letting Pierce and KG ride off into the sunset in Celtic green, those guys won us a title.  But what the heck was he supposed to do, just hold onto a broken IT because he had one magical season?

Wyc would have been right to fire Ainge if he passed on that deal for Kyrie.

Davis sr. doesnt want Davis to join Celts due to treatment of IT4

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/25902808/anthony-davis-sr-want-son-boston-cites-treatment-isaiah-thomas

"I would never want my son to play for Boston after what they done to Isaiah Thomas," Anthony Davis Sr. told ESPN on Friday, referencing the former Celtics star point guard who was traded for Kyrie Irving amid his recovery from a hip injury. "No loyalty. Guy gives his heart and soul and they traded him."

Davis Sr. clarified that this is solely his opinion, and he can't speak for his son.

Apologies is this comes across as crude, but I wish there was a little bit more "F U" in this team.  I think they're too nice at times.

Everybody is out to crap on this team right now.  The media assault is unreal.  Sometimes, though, that can bring a team together.  Sometimes it cultivates an 'us against the world' mentality that can actually focus rather than distract.  It can lead them to try to humiliate everybody who steps on the court against them... none of this 'playing down to the opponent' noise.  But it doesn't appear that this team has that kind of identity.  Smart might, but it takes more than one.  It takes everybody, and my impression is that a lot of these guys are too stoic and passive.

I know this stuff has to bother some of these guys.  Heck, it might bother ALL of these guys.  I'd like to see them take it out on the rest of the league.

Rich Paul and Lebron are in his ear right now and they're playing dirty.  They have no leverage though.  The Celtics will trade for him and he will love his experience in Boston.  Just listen to Garnett's feelings about playing for the Celtics.

If AD gets to play with Kyrie in Boston, even his dad will change his mind. Plus, IT still loves the Celtics and Boston
