The Celtics have the pieces now to get to the Finals and AD puts us over the top in the East. Hes the missing piece not Kyrie, that's been proven.

And exactly how has this been proven?

Anthony Davis says someone called a reporter and that reporter called Rich about it. “We never wanted it go public.”

Well, that's a lie lol Maybe YOU didn't want it to go public, but your sleazy agent did.

I know that it doesn't work this way in the NBA, but if I had an agent working on my behalf for a new job and he made it public without my permission, he would be my agent no longer.

Mike

Yeah, just fire your agent and be done with it.

Otherwise keep your (AD) mouth shut because nothing but bull is coming out of it.

Ok so if we had AD against the Cavs in game 7 last year, you d oknt think we win??

We already know Rozier can step in. AD next to Horford this year and the Bucks or Raptors don't beat us.

All you are really doing is extending the time to make any big moves with a guy already under contract. The Pelicans aren't getting anyone that will stay so you work to rebuild through the draft because they have those rights much longer.

Anyone they trade for is gone in 2 months if they just don't want to deal with the Lakers....not those 3 premium picks though. AD already said he was out so it takes that pressure off them.

So nothing actually proven.  Just a hypothetical.  Got it.

How about this hypothetical?  Irving instead of Rozier's craptastic performance in Game 7 last year.  Team probably ends up in the Finals also.

Add AD to the mix with Kyrie and you're also looking at Finals appearances down the road.

People need to get past this conference finals appearance without Kyrie last year.   Teams didn't stay static.  Raptors & Bucks both got better.  Jury is still out on Philly although I think they're putting up more of a fight come playoffs this year.

Rolling this team back without Irving doesn't automatically get you back in the conference finals this year.   And if you're trading Kyrie for AD, you're right back at the step of wanting to add another star to this roster plus you're also worrying about AD simply walking when his contract is up.

I repeat, AD and Kyrie want to play together, not be traded for each other. Can we let this stupid narrative die down, and stop wasting bandwidth on something that's been expressed to Ad nauseam?

Sounds like he did not demand to be traded to the Lakers, implying his agent could be behind that!!

Speaking with reporters today, Davis insisted he never gave the Pelicans “a timetable or a destination” regarding his desire to be traded (Twitter link). He explained that he felt like he has accomplished all he could in New Orleans and wants to try a new challenge, relays Stefano Fusaro on ESPN Now.

“I just feel like it is my time,” Davis said. “Gave the city, organization, fans, everything I felt like I could do. I don’t know how long I’m going to play this game. People’s careers are short. I felt like it is my time to move on.”

Yep pretty much what you said footey.

We don't have 3 premium picks and your original post said to exclude the Kings pick.  Kyrie is worthless to NOP.  3 picks isn't that much of an offer for AD.  Plenty of teams could make competitive offers and there are plenty of good players who could be traded to NOP who won't be gone in 2 months.

Even if you throw in Brown, it's still worth it.

Yes, we've proven we can win without Kyrie and that's why he's not committing. He doesn't feel like his leadership is impacting because the young guys aren't listening to him.

It is still better to get a player of AD worth for another year verses losing both for nothing. Ainge would still hold a big chip.

Keep in mind KG didn't want to come either. Who cares if they want to play together, Kyrie has had his opportunity to squash it and didn't so move on. We would at least have everyone focused on the playoffs and every player would welcome AD.

Can they get a better deal than Kyrie, Brown, 3 #1 picks? Sure Kyrie will leave...well right now they don't plan on playing AD so what's the difference? They obviously don't want to deal with LA.

Please don't say you do see the cohesiveness when he's not playing

So name those teams and players? No playoff team is going to tear it down for AD. No one has the flexibility with players and picks that the Celtics have. What team has 4 possible #1 picks?

If I'm one of the players I'm giving Kyrie the side eye. He gets upset and calls us out. He keeps this narrative alive and doesn't squash it. Why tell the world you had to call Bron...the guy you couldn't be around anymore to air out stuff in our locker room! Is he in or out? He doesn't come sit on bench during the 7th game.

Is he really a Celtic or is this a pit stop to go play in NY and LA. He thinks the young guys should look up to him because he has a ring, but a leader who is wishy washy isnt a good leader.
