It's just crazy how much power agents like Paul have. Everyone knows this is entire narrative is being driven by the ClutchSports group.

imagine if Toronto said the same about Kawhi or if Okc said the same about George. This whole "we want to play for LA" farce is a fake news from agents

And the thing is it literally happens every single year at the deadline and the draft, yet people still fall for it every single time. It's like, good Lord, people, do you not pay attention to the consistent narrative pattern here?

Even the Pelicans beat writers and many others around the league understand that all of this narrative going around is largely agent-driven drivel meant to create a certain narrative benefiting LA and ClutchSports:

https://twitter.com/SeanDeveney/status/1091359676061663234?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1091359676061663234&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fbleacherreport.com%2Fnew-orleans-pelicans

Putting out the story that Anthony Davis won't sign with Celtics without Kyrie Irving in place was brilliant by Rich Paul.

Boston can tell Pelicans to be patient, wait till 7/1. But now Pels have a seed of doubt. If Irving bolts will Boston pull its offer bc Davis won't stay?

Quote
If your goal is to push Dell Demps to make a deal with the Lakers, that's a good tactic. Lot of folks around the league think it's BS, that Davis would re-sign in Boston with or without Irving. But it's a good bit of doubt to put out there.

There is no amount of drama that should preclude the Pelicans from waiting until after the lottery to move Anthony Davis.

Rich Paul, Kyrie, LeBron, Magic, and Ainge can cook up all they want. The Pelicans should wait.

Quote
Gayle Benson is the one ultimately making this decision. Not Dell Demps. Not Mickey Loomis.

And she doesn't care about all this drama. She's going to do what's best for the long term success of the franchise. On the Pelicans timeline.

It’s pretty clear Rich Paul (and Anthony Davis) are trying to slowly, publicly whittle away at the Pelicans’ leverage leading up to the trade deadline, in an attempt to get Davis to the Lakers.

Based on everything I know, I don’t believe the posturing will change the Pels plans

Because... that's absolutely what it is. It literally happens every single year, it has been known that Rich Paul and Lebron were going to do this for a long time now, and there's plenty of CREDIBLE sources out there stating that Kyrie is still where he has always been regarding free agency. And you don't find this even a tad bit fishy that all of this "leaked" as soon as Davis' trade request was made public? Come on, now. This is literally like a scripted play it's so obvious.

It's just amazing to me that people watch this occur year after year after year and still don't get what's going on.

It's basically verbatim what we heard about Paul George.

Boston continues to be confident about re-signing Kyrie Irving this summer, per sources. But make no mistake: They understand that adding AD may be the only way to guarantee he stays.

Anthony Davis is focused on the Lakers as his top preferred destination, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @WatchStadium. The Knicks are also as a preferred landing spot, and made push to New Orleans with offer around Kristaps Porzingis before the Dallas deal.

Lol Rich Paul is exclusively focusing on the Celtics now, doing everything he can to not get NOLA to wait, even throwing New York in the bunch now. Pretty clear he knows that they have no shot of trading for AD after the deadline.

Just watch - once it's clear that NOLA won't budge even with all of these "leaks" coming out, something will "leak" in the next few days that AD won't even play for the Celtics if traded there as an attempt to force NOLA's hand. Guarantee it!

It'll be a little softened to allow for wiggle room later.

Sources - AD "uncertain" about playing for Celtics if acquired; would consider not reporting or sitting out next season.
