Posting this link here and in a separate thread. All you need to know is here:

http://www.celticshub.com/2017/07/05/gordon-hayward-sign-trade-options/

tp for the link.  that was really helpful.

so no matter what at this point KO is gone correct?

99%. He could choose to take a massive pay cut, or we could move Crowder AND Bradley to keep him.

Why would we ever give away crowder if there are other options?  I mean getting minutes to Brown and Tatum is going to be important, but worse comes to worse, throw Jae out at the 4 and see how it goes.

A S&T for Crowder makes the most sense for both teams.

How does it make "the most sense" for us?
Because we need to clear $ to sign Hayward and Crowder's minutes can go to Hayward/Brown/Tatum.

This makes no sense. The Celtics aren't just going to gift Crowder to the Jazz because they feel bad.

Please take my TP.

Absolutely agree. This makes no sense for us, and it's very stupid that we are even considering it if this is true.

There MUST be more to this story. Danny didn't get to where he is by doing other teams favors.

it isn't a favor. its my understanding that they give Crowder so Utah has a reason to do the sign and trade.  Remember when lebron was sign and traded to the heat? The heat gave the cavs like 100 first round picks to do the sign and trade.

What BitterJim is asking is why not trade Crowder to a different team instead of Utah?

We are getting Hayward anyway. Why not trade Crowder to the highest bidder and then sign Hayward via cap space (while keeping Rozier as well)?

Oh brother, I thought the Hayward saga ruined my days.

Now I can't sleep because I'm thinking hard about this...  :P

We can send him to another team and get something in return, though. Or keep him, AB, and Smart and look to trade for a big later. Giving him up for nothing doesn't make sense

That was under an old CBA. The rules are different now, and the S&T has been marginalized. We can easily create the space necessary. We need to find the most advantageous way to do it. Dumping Crowder for nothing is not advantageous.

There has to be another side to this story, something we are missing. Unless Utah wants to give us Rodney Hood lol.

You joke, but that's basically what it'd have to be if they're getting Crowder (from a salary and value standpoint).

In this case, thiugh, we can make the room to do this without them, and beyond that get actual assets in return. If I'm not mistaken, Miami needed to sign and trade for one of Lebron or Bosh, which gave CLE/TOR leverage that Utah does not have
