Ainge is not trading the 2018 Nets pick anytime soon.

I'm coming around to this slowly.

Just imagining having 2 of the bamba/porter/doncic/ayton quartet.  :o :o

It will never happen for 2018. Lakers are going to not going to be 2-5 in the lottery.

I now want nothing more than to have been dead wrong about Markelle Fultz, because this trade is going to be a nightmare otherwise.

Four times per year, every year, for the next fifteen or so years. This should be fun.

A bigger deal is in play but I think clearly Ainge doesn't think Fultz is that much better.  The pick protections at least make it so you probably aren't missing on the second addition and if you like Jackson as much just about you are getting him too.

Yeah, there certainly does seem to be another trade brewing, but I also think Danny rated all four of them pretty similarly.

I just really hope this doesn't come back to bite us in the arse.

So either Celtics get pick 2,3,4,5 next year or the Kings pick unprotected in 2019.

So, top-1 and 6-30 protected. If not, then we get the Sacramento pick.

Makes sense. It's unreasonable to expect to get the #3 and next year's #1 in exchange for this year's #1. And the 6-30 protection is a good call, the Lakers could be good (unlikely) or be barely in the bottom 5 but then get unlucky in the lottery

I disagree about unreasonableness.  If you're trading the #1 overall pick, it's never unreasonable to hope for a future pick at least as good.

Hoping for it isn't unreasonable, but expecting a team to leave off #1 protection is. If the pick was a couple years down the line (like the Kings' pick), then yes, not accepting #1 protection is reasonable, but there's no way Philly would make this deal without it.
I'm bitter.

I just need to remind myself that a few months ago I liked Luca Doncic more than Fultz, and now we have a greater chance of drafting him.

Find the happy thoughts, saltlover.

How do we have a greater chance? Doncic is going #1 and our chances at #1 did not improve.

Not when you are only moving down 2 spots. Did you forget we also got the #3 pick in the deal?

I did not, but I still don't find it unreasonable to expect a chance at #1 next year.

At least the 2019 pick should be the better of Philly and Sacto if we don't get 2018.  Or 2018 could be the better of LA and Philly, with the current protections.

I am not feeling great but I am adjusting... we will see.  I do like Jackson.

Worried about stacking Philly as well.

Offer #3, basically the Kings 2019, Crowder and one of the guards for Butler.

Keep you Nets 2018 pick. Clear the fat from the roster (Young, Green, Johnson, Zeller, KO, Jonas) and sign Hayward.

And flip it next year for more picks ::).  Deng, looks like Ainge is putting the ass in assets, lol ;D.

I don't love it unless DA truly feels Fultz is flawed in ways unreported (or ignored).

If DA can get Butler without giving up the newly acquired pick or Nets 18, I am OK with how this ends up.  But I doubt Bulls take #3 and Bradley for Butler.

I'm guessing its Crowder, Nets 2018 pick, and the newly acquired pick for Butler or George.

That would be a huge overpay
Yes, I'd hate this.  #3 and Crowder.  Or, LAL/Sac pick and Crowder.   I'd throw in Clips pick or Cs 18 if needed.

If boston keeps the #3 pick..please take Tatum. He is a better player and is not questionable off the court. Jackson is a trouble maker

I pray we are both wrong because right now I feel ill.

At least Tatum can make shots. We need someone that can shoot and can create offense, Tatum can do both very well.

I agree with that. Having a swap on there would make things much safer from our standpoint
