The Celtics have yet to see Lonzo Ball or Josh Jackson during pre-draft process, as both have declined. They saw Jayson Tatum in L.A.

Interesting. Didn't know that we've seen Tatum already.

Philadelphia is planning to send Boston the No. 3 overall pick in Thursday’s draft and the 2018 first-round pick that the Los Angeles Lakers owe the Sixers, league sources told The Vertical. The Lakers’ pick in 2018 is protected Nos. 2-5, league sources said.

I'm confused about the protections now. That is from Woj latest article.

We will get the pick if it is 2,3,4, or 5. Otherwise, we will get 2019 SAC unprotected.

NBA exec to me: "I'd bet just about anything Boston doesn't end up picking at 3. At least not for themselves. It will move again."

Please, God, be George. He's so much of a better fit than Butler.

I think people are sleeping on how good George really is. He's an absolute perfect fit here.

I don't see how it's George considering he seems dead set on exploring his options next summer. Too much of a gamble even for Ainge.

He gambled on missing out on the #1 overall pick, why stop there?

PG is a much better fit than Jimmy Butler indeed. And the fact that he can play some 4 works better.

With only 1 year remaining on his contract and a diva attitude. That would be a fleecing for the ages when he walks after a year

I will never again question Danny's willingness to gamble. But my god, if he trades for PG then loses him in a year...he would actually get fired.

He is if Hayward isn't coming.  Didn't want to play the 4 in Indy.  I dont see how they can coexist, esp with Brown. Lot of time to develop, but atm he's more of a 3 offensively.

In the unlikely event that we stand pat, I like Tatum.

Not what his article says. It says the pick is protected between 2-5.

I think the C's are trading for Butler. The writing has been on the wall for a while now.

Where exactly would PG walk off to?

He wants to win. Where else with cap space gives him a better shot of doing that than in Boston?

He's not going to LA. That was way overblown. They have no chance of winning for the foreseeable future.

It's poor phrasing, but that's what he's intending to say. I'd be willing to bet all my TP's on that.

I would be okay with Butler if we were getting Griffin instead of Hayward.

We still have a major, gaping hole in our lineup even after adding Hayward and Butler.

Yes, that's what protected 2-5 means. Celtics get it in that small range, otherwise they get 2019.  Woj and many others are all reporting the same thing.

Danny is taking Tatum.... it is just so obvious. I dont know why yall so hooked on Jackson.

What makes you say that?  Why not, say, Isaac or Ball, etc?

Just watch the video !!!!

Good thing they have a zillion draft picks to fix those holes with via trade.

If Fultz becoms a superstar, he'll get fired anyway. So what's stopping him? If he can convince himself that passing on Fultz and trading for a player is better, surely he can convince himself that he can convince PG to stay.

Besides, what difference does it make? Jimmy Butler just has one extra year than PG, he could literally do the same the year after because he will opt out for more money. Is a year really makes that of a difference?
