Nice!

But still things could fall apart if Magic thretens to take Jackson and wants in on this deal

Triboy, its Tatum. Come on, you have to see it, right?

Im good with either Tatum or Jackson. Plus future assets  ;D

What a clown fiesta.

This is quite possibly the worst Celtic trade I have ever seen in my lifetime, and I lived through the 90ies.

This is some franchise-altering stuff, and not in a good way. Even if we end this off-season with Davis and Durant, I don't care, that's just a bad trade.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Imagine for a second.... Cs could easily have gotten the 3rd pick on lottery night.  We are better off having won the lottery even if the return on this trade is disappointing.

That's how I'm trying to rationalize this. I would have been fine taking Jackson a month ago, and this is better.

But, the fact is we did get the #1 pick, and this seems like poor value.

It is poor value. I doesn't matter if we are moving only two spots down, we're passing on a supposedly transcendent player for an asset to be used as a trade chip or draft someone who's not Markelle Fultz.

The whole point of moving down is to get value, and what do we get, a protected LA pick or the Sacramento pick? Jesus Christ...

Supposedly is the key word. Ainge and some other GMs think its a 4 player tier 1

Understood, but if we look at scouting reports, Fultz clearly has the least amount of glaring weakness. Jackson has personal and length issues. Lonzo Ball has physicality and personal issues. Tatum has consistency and defense issues.

Fultz's weaknesses are at the most tolerable. Why not just take that player???

Are they? Fultz was never tested in college. He played for a crap team and and half-assed it all the way through, never playing defense. He missed the end of the season with a knee injury, and then reportedly choked on his workouts with the Celtics and Sixers , shooting poorly, when at least a little pressure was on him.

Davis and Durant? You wouldn't care? Ok.

EDIT: Or he thinks that the number 3 alone with some minor assets is enough for a Butler or George. That makes quite a bit more sense.

Yeah I was thinking something like 3 and Crowder maybe.

I think you have to add more salary to it to make it work if you're getting Hayward or Griffin, too, which I think most of us are assuming.

The Celtics' overflowing backcourt also factored into their decision to pass on Fultz, sources say.

Just to tick everyone off a bit more. Danny overvaluing Rozier screwed us once again!  :P\

But seriously, Fultz is probably better than anyone on our team now, but now Danny is drafting for fit at the number one seed?!

I can't believe that I'm going to do this, but wasn't this same logic applied to Dunn last year, as in Ainge believing that Rozier will either be as good or better than Kris, which looks fine so far.  I'd trade Rozier for Orlando's two seconds at 33 and 35, myself, but yeah...

I'm really searching at this point, lol ;D. This is hilarious.

Yes. Many people (myself included) balked at taking Brown over the BPA in Dunn. Doesn't look so bad now. Regardless I can't shake the feeling Fultz is going to a great one that Ainge just sent to a pretty good core in Philly. Time will tell.

As did I, regarding Dunn vs. Brown.  All I'm saying here is that we should just sit back and enjoy the ride.  Usually all of this is happening within the span of an hour or two on draft night.  At least this way we'll have time to digest whatever transpires between now and Thursday night ;D.

Yeah plus whatever to match in addition.  Just those as the assets changing hands.  We will see.  I do think it makes sense that Ainge is trying to now see what he can do before the draft, i.e. he's not set on taking this player still.

I'm coming around to this slowly.

Just imagining having 2 of the bamba/porter/doncic/ayton quartet.  :o :o
that is actually possible now. I'm ok with this. Porter/Ayton/Jackson/Brown could be the core

That versus Philly's Fultz/Simmons/Saric/Embiid core would be interesting. We probably still lose, but it'd be interesting.

I'm warming up to Tatum. He looks VERY Paul Pierce-like. We should have listened to the early reports that the Celtics were very high on Tatum with the #1 pick.
