I don't love it unless DA truly feels Fultz is flawed in ways unreported (or ignored).

If DA can get Butler without giving up the newly acquired pick or Nets 18, I am OK with how this ends up.  But I doubt Bulls take #3 and Bradley for Butler.

"From Woj: Clarification on deal: Besides its 2017 FRP, Philly sends '18 Lakers pick  w/ protections. If it doesn't convey, 76ers send 2019 Kings pick."

Ridiculous.

Wow.  I would have been OK with a top-1 protected Lakers' pick AND a top-3 or so protected Kings pick, but only 1 pick?  I'm not feeling it.

With the reverse protection though, it's either a 2-5 pick in 2018, or an unprotected 2019 Kings pick which would likely be a top 5 pick, so the odds are really high that its a top 5 pick for trading down 2 spots.

So either Celtics get pick 2,3,4,5 next year or the Kings pick unprotected in 2019.

So, top-1 and 6-30 protected. If not, then we get the Sacramento pick.

Makes sense. It's unreasonable to expect to get the #3 and next year's #1 in exchange for this year's #1. And the 6-30 protection is a good call, the Lakers could be good (unlikely) or be barely in the bottom 5 but then get unlucky in the lottery

I'm guessing its Crowder, Nets 2018 pick, and the newly acquired pick for Butler or George.

Boston will never pick with the 2018 Lakers pick. lakers will finish lower than 5th next season in the lottery

The deal is basically for #3 and the Kings 2019 pick.

I disagree about unreasonableness.  If you're trading the #1 overall pick, it's never unreasonable to hope for a future pick at least as good.

A bigger deal is in play but I think clearly Ainge doesn't think Fultz is that much better.  The pick protections at least make it so you probably aren't missing on the second addition and if you like Jackson as much just about you are getting him too.

That would be pathetic

Not when you are only moving down 2 spots. Did you forget we also got the #3 pick in the deal?

If Fultz becomes a superstar in Philadelphia and they become a super team as a result.

FIRE AINGE ON THE SPOT.

Also considering it's just #3 and only ONE FUTURE 1st SMH...

I'm coming around to this slowly.

Just imagining having 2 of the bamba/porter/doncic/ayton quartet.  :o :o

I now want nothing more than to have been dead wrong about Markelle Fultz, because this trade is going to be a nightmare otherwise.

I just need to remind myself that a few months ago I liked Luca Doncic more than Fultz, and now we have a greater chance of drafting him.

Find the happy thoughts, saltlover.

Offer #3, basically the Kings 2019, Crowder and one of the guards for Butler.

Keep you Nets 2018 pick. Clear the fat from the roster (Young, Green, Johnson, Zeller, KO, Jonas) and sign Hayward.
