#3? I'll take it! Maybe Simmons or Ingraham slide, but unlikely. There will be good players available at #3, I'm happy we didn't slide all the way to #6.
Celtics fan for life.

On the bright side I could see philly keeping its pick, and even LA as Ingram would slide in at SF with Randle at PF, Russell at PG, and they could make a run at Derozan at SG in free agency.   That would be great as we could have the best available pick in a trade.  Lets hope.

Besides trading the 3rd overall pick this could be the worst landing spot from a drafting perspective.
I'm looking for Ainge to take Jaylen Brown or Dragan Bender 3rd overall and have the entire Celtic community revolting. I may be pessimistic, but I've learned to never be optimistic with Ainge drafting.
Past drafts:

2013:
Kelly Olynyk
2014:
Marcus Smart
James Young
2015:
Terry Rozier
RJ Hunter
Please people tell me how anyone should become excited over that draft resume

Man oh man people. Just earlier today nearly everyone was saying "I am expecting 6 or 5. Anything else is a bonus." Here we are with the 3rd pick and everyone's mad. Is it disappointing when things don't work out the way we want them to? Sure, but we are in a dang good spot!

Seriously.

When I said the Nets pick was "likely a top 5 pick" at the beginning of the season many people scoffed at the idea. If someone had said the Nets pick would be third the entire board would be jumping for joy.

Now it's the same "doom and gloom" people who somehow think the 3rd pick in the draft is somehow garbage. Personally, I can't wait to see what the Cs do but I feel like it's Christmas.

C'mon man, that's just how some people cope with the stress.

Imagine you go downtown on a friday night, and don't expect to get laid, then this beauty shows up and flirts with you for an hour, but ultimately leaves you hanging, do you say to yourself "Oh well, I didn't expect to score, anyway"?
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Jordan Clarkson, D'Angelo Russell, Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle are a nice little young core for the Lakers.  Sounds like they will strongly consider moving the pick though... perhaps for someone like Jimmy Butler or Cousins so they can be more appealing for max contract talent?

Definitely wouldn't be happy with Brown at 3.

I am not excited about any of the names mentioned.
Bender? God no.

If people are rioting over the fact that the Celtics have the 3rd pick, I can't imagine if they landed the 6th pick.

So far tge Nets trade has landed us:
James Young
Dragan Bender ???
2017 pick
2018

Hopefully the next 2 land us a superstar but we pretty much got all these picks for free.
... and Isaiah Thomas

And Zeller :)
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

IMO, the difference between the 3-5 picks is really miminal.  Getting into the top two was what it was all about.  The odds against that was almost 70%, but still it was frustrating not to get that top 2 after making it into the final 3.  Oh well.

Fortunately no one's opinion on Celticsblog means anything in this.

Hinkie's Process Vindicated.

Trade #3 for Okafor.

Good for them.  Tanking works.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I had a strong feeling Philly and LA would be one and two in some order.

Celts were one higher than I expected though.   That's cool.

Or maybe we look back in 3-5 years and say 'wow Simmons was overrated.'
