1. Ben Simmons - 6'10 SF/PF with pg level handles/passing skills. Very good rebounder. High IQ. Too unselfish. Inconsistent shooter. Unable/not confident to shoot 3's (3 attempts all year long. 1 for 3). Has to keep improving shooting to take it to the next level
High end comparison - A bit of Lebron A bit of Magic
Low end comparison - Lamar Odom
2. Brandon Ingram - 6'10 SF/PF with a very good shooting touch. Fairly quick shooting mechanic and can shoot over people. Capable handles for size and willing passer. Very good 3 pt shooter that can shoot with a hand in face. Good effort on both ends. Rain thin. Position less defensively at this time. Likely won't be able to guard sfs at the nba level (long strides, not quick laterally). Has to keep gaining strength/improve conditioning
High end comparison - Dirk Nowitzki with a touch of Jabari Parker
Low end comparison - Channing Frye
3. Buddy Hield - 6'4 SG/PG with unlimited range. Hair trigger shooter that can shoot the 3 anywhere from the court. Can score anywhere from the court. Underrated handles and passing skills. Can play the point position. Chiselled body, explosive. Good rebounder for a guard. Good effort on the defensive end. Is a senior. Is he for real or just bullying younger players??
High end comparison - James Harden with a touch of C.J. McCollum
Low end comparison - Gerald Henderson
4. Henry Ellenson - 6'10 pf/c with inside/outside offensive skills and strong shot blocking capability on the defensive end. Just pure energy, effort and hustle. Nice hook shot that is hard to block. Near auto 15-17 ft jump shot. Good handles and passing skills for size. Wide shoulders/good standing reach , good timing makes him an above average shot blocker. Good leadership qualities. Could be a better rebounder. Slow and lacks explosiveness. Too wild sometimes. Needs to keep improving conditioning, become a better rebounder, play with better control at times.
High end comparison - Marc Gasol
Low end comparison - Big country
5. Kris Dunn - 6'3 pg with handles/explosiveness to get into the paint at will. Has improved 3 point shooting. Good finisher around the rim. Some highlight reel dunks. Good passer but not willing at times. A thief on the defensive end. High turnover numbers. Not an efficient scorer at this time. Needs to cut down turning over the ball. Needs to become a more willing passer.
High end comparison - Damian Lillard
Low end comparison - Jeff Teague
6. Tim Luwawu - 6'7 sf/sg with high level potential. Sure ball handler and good passing skills. Improved jump shooter all the way out to the 3 pt line. Drive stop and pop. Explosive with 7'2 wingspan. Highlight reel dunks. Acrobatic finisher. Indecisive. Shot needs to keep improving. Defensive awareness needs to improve. Only 195 pounds and needs to keep adding strength.
High end comparison - Paul George
low end comparison - Nicolas Batum
Not good options (no particular order)
1. Jaylen Brown - shaky handles. Poor passer. Unwilling passer. mediocre bbiq. Poor "team player" on both ends
2. Dragan Bender - Donatas Motiejunas at this time. takes a long time to setup for a jump shot. Lacks "power" in his game. Slender. Without a jumpshot again basically a Donatas Motiejunas at this time
3. Jamal Murray - Deadly long range shooter. Good size for a SG. Good strength. But lacks quickness/explosiveness. Will have issues on the defensive end
4. Jakob Poetl - Tyler Zeller part 2. so so rebounder for size. so so jump shot
5. Diamond Stone - Speights . Like Speights lacks a consistent motor.
6. SKAL LABISSIERE - Rail thin. Poor freshman performance. Hard to get a grasp as to what kind of NBA player he will become. Should stay back another year
Even though it would be amazing to get either Simmons or Ingram for the 2016 draft, any of the other 4 would be solid pickups for the Celts. Hield is an absolute scoring monster right now. Some are saying he is a combination of McCollum and Harden. Harden but a more unselfish version. That is a top level nba player. Luwawu has untapped potential and the main thing from stopping him to reaching the next level right now is needing to add strength/improve conditioning. He has the frame to pack on more weight. Ellenson is a widebody that plays with endless energy on the court. Has the skills/leadership qualities to be a good one. Because we already have Rozier , Dunn is the least favourable out of the 6 for us to choose in my opinion. But his level of skill (and now 3 pt shooting touch) can't be overlooked. You could just pick him and worry about the overcrowd at the pg spot later.
