Is it unreasonable to assume the following averages when Rondo gets back?

Rondo: 14
Bradley: 14
Green: 16
Sully: 16
Asik: 10

Crawford: 10
Olynyk: 8
Pressey/Fav/Hump/Wallace combine for around 10

Those are pretty reasonable numbers and that's 98 points. Not a ton but enough to win games, especially with an elite defense.

  This is a good way of looking at things. In most years the average team gets about 65 ppg from its starters and  only a handful get over 70 ppg from their starters. While it's unclear what happens with Rondo's health this year, it's not a stretch to see Rondo/AB/Green/Sully combining for 60 points or so, especially next year. You wouldn't need a ton of scoring from Asik. As for the bench, we're a little weak there after trading Bass and Lee but Crawford, a decent scoring wing and a backup big or two should supply the scoring we need.

  Combine that with the defense we should see and it's a fairly solid unit. Again, probably a player away from being at least a fringe contender. It's true the team doesn't have a top level scorer, but they do have Rondo. His ability to create open looks for his teammates is a big help in the playoffs, when defenses are tougher.

The Houston Rockets can trade Omer Asik on Friday and still re-trade anyone acquired before Feb. 20, but they will continue to operate under their self-imposed Thursday deadline.

If the Rockets are unable to agree to terms on a trade, they will reset trade talks entirely.

The Rockets' strong preference is to trade Asik by the end of Thursday, but appear willing to blow up negotiations.

A deadline is a deadline, man. After today, the Asik window is completely closed. Right now the 76ers, Celtics, and Hawks are horses, racing around a track somewhere in Houston, edging ever closer to today's finish line. The one who is in the lead at the end of the day will claim the prize!

This deadline is just to allow Houston more options in terms of follow-up trades before the deadline.

But anyone acquired in an Asik deal next week can still be traded, so long as his salary is not being aggregated (combined) with others.

Man, if Ainge can get the Celtics back into that three-team scenario with Philly (exprings and a future 1st for Asik, with Thad Young going to Houston), I'd love it.

The more i think about it, there is no need for philly to offer more than hawes. Its a equal trade

76rs players like young are increasingly becoming frustrated losing. A defensivr anchor can really help while hawes paired with dhoward makes sense.

76rs could use another high pick for 2014 but that will likely net them back a non center pick through the draft. This way they secure a weak position for the future also.

Asik for Bass, Lee and a 1st is a good deal, but only if the 1st isn't in 2014 and isn't unprotected.  If Houston thinks they're getting a better deal than that from anyone, they're high.
