Orlando Kobes select Amar'e Stoudemire.  Fire away.
I was expecting him last round with bogut, Varejao, Bynum, and Gordon. All possible 2nd round or higher talents with injury problems dropping them down.

Just like Granger and the ones listed, if healthy, its a great pick.

Thought about picking him a few times myself in the earlier rounds.

What swayed me on it was that even with the injury problems last year, Amar'e was ridiculously efficient when he was on the court, with a 22 PER and .637 TS%.  And he was playing basically the exact role we'll be asking of him in Orlando.  In a single-year exercise where contracts don't matter, he was easily worth the risk.

High risk high reward player
If he is healthy very good value pick

Picked at the 5th, I think the reward is so much higher than the risks. But IMO he cant be starting, he'll get killed in the voting with his knees.

He won't be starting - we'll be asking him to play 25-30 minutes max as the first big off the bench.

I like Amare, but I don't know how much I'll be valuing him in the voting.  Same thing with Bynum.

This makes me happy.  That's the one team Ellis made sense on.

haha.  ::)

Whoever has Bynum, go to the DKC thread where the same Roy H. doled out something like a 4 yr/$53 million contract for Bynum. smh.

(for the record I wouldn't touch Bynum with a 10 foot pole, nor allow him on any team, real or fantasy, that i had anything to do with...)

I had totally forgotten about him.  Rough year or not last season, that's a value pick.

Yeah - Amar'e certainly has injury concerns, but he's not in the same league as Bynum in terms of risk at this point.  Dude injured his knee bowling!  The only advantage of choosing Bynum over Amar'e is youth.

riah drafted him.  The same riah who has him in DKC.

DKC is a different animal.  There, Cleveland is a poor free agent destination, so it has to take some risks.  As we've said, we expect Bynum to be healthy for the playoffs in two out of four years.  During those two years, the Cavs will be contenders.

In a one year exercise where there are no barriers to players you can acquire, I'd stay away until the 7th or 8th.

I'm predicting this round's picks have more career All-Star selections than any round since the 2nd.  Maybe since the 1st. Probably not more selections than the 2nd.
