Do people really think that Bledsoe was attainable if Ainge would just hold firm or is Bledsoe a guy who Ainge had to ask about but had zero chance of getting, just like he had no chance of getting back James Harden in the Kendrick Perkins trade?

If anybody on here knows Ainge for some reason, please forward him this.

Although I did like the Clippers fan in the comments who suggested that they take Bass instead of Terry and/or Lee

why would anyone forward that? I'm sure Ainge is aware of what the negotiations have been like, he doesnt need us to tell him.

Haha.  And the Clippers fans are even making fun of us on that comments section too:

The members over at celticsblog are hilarious. Somehow, in their minds, this is going to blow up in our faces and CP3 is three steps out the door already.

I don' think that is indicative of the conversations here at all

Much like all small-franchise fans, Clips fans feel the world revolves around them. I don't think anyone here really cares what happens to the Clippers.

In any case, if the deal falls apart because the Clippers didn't want to include a second pick, I'll have a good laugh about it.

They're dying to watch the Celtics do that deal!

Wouldn't you?

On the other hand, if this goes through, you're looking at the possibility of

Guards:
CP3/Bledsoe
Billups/Crawford

Wings & Bigs:
Pierce/Barnes
Griffin/Odom
KG/Hollins/Turiaf

That's a good-to-great team with a pretty Doc friendly rotation, (lots of talented and role-happy vets, A trigger happy sixth man in Crawford, and no real depth for bigs) health permitting.

That's so pathetic.

What a mockery.

I'm holding out hope DA doesn't fold.

looking like he will fold, doesn't really matter for me

you gotto admit though, it kinda did go down like that

looking like it will go down? You mean based on Wojo's sources?

Okay, so when it comes to how the negotiations are going you're fine with Wojo's sources, but when it comes to what CP wants you need actual quotes from CP?

The two Wojo articles just so there's no confusion:

I have to say, it really does seem like Ainge is getting hosed in these negotiations.

But then, he has no leverage.  This is a real mess for the Celtics.  Blowing it up is doubtless in the best interests of the franchise, but the way this has gone with Doc Rivers has made it difficult for the team to have much negotiating power.

According to this article Danny has backed out on including Bledsoe and adding some contracts to the mix.

So basically, it's "KG for DeAndre Jordan and a pick or two" and it's gives Clips the rights to hire Doc.

I for one have supported Danny Ainge, but if this deal goes through with him, he should get fired. Clearly we can get more value for KG than DeAndre and a very late pick. Clearly we're better off having KG and Doc run one more time than accept that stupid of a deal because he's insisting on rebuilding.

If he agrees on this deal, he better get canned.

thinking about it i rather get an extra pick than just dump one of terry/lee or bass, the reason why is that we were not getting any salary relief anytime soon (in the next two years)

and owing clippers first rounders is something you always like to have

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think Danny will settle for
DeAndre Jordan
2013 first round pick+ 2014 first round pick.
Caron Butler for Jason Terry, Lee or Bass.

I'd say they ask for Bass (for playoff defense and finals experience bench big- they can run off the elbow like we did KG and Bass when Griffin is off). Danny will want to keep Bass as a filler in another future trade and because he actually has some value. I'd say the Clippers settle for Terry because Doc will demand it because he's the best piece in a genuine championship chase for them.

I'm assuming Danny will not budge unless we get both those picks.
There's a very realistic chance of KG going down with injury at some stage and if he does, those picks in the 24-30 range will become mid first rounders.
Getting Bledsoe would help this even more.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

If Danny settles for anything less than DJ, Butler and a 2014 first with the Clippers eating at LEAST Terry's contract, then I'd be seriously upset.

I'd like to see him push through for another first or them taking on Bass as well.

Does anyone know why Danny seems intent on sending Lee and Terry per the reports? I would have thought of the Lee/Bass/Terry trio Lee would be the most marketable given his age and versatility.

The Clips can't trade 1st rd picks in consecutive seasons.
