All I'm saying is Orlando didn't make the right decision here.  They should have either taken Houston's offer or gotten Gasol, maybe Gallinari or Chandler instead of Afflalo

Yeah, I think Houston's offer was better than this.

But too high a price to pay for a short-term rental.  Gutting the team for Dwight isn't the answer.  That's not how you build a team.  How did Orlando fare with Dwight and a bunch of rather fringe players?

You really have to wonder what Orlando fans are making of this.

Agreed.

I wonder why that didn't go down.

I think Who was talking about it from Orlando point of view, not Houston's.

Probably attempting to convince themselves that Arron Afflalo is going to LEAD THEM TO A CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THAT TRAITOR GETS ONE.

I was thinking the same thing.  But we never really got a good picture of what Houston's offer actually was.  Who exactly were they offering?  How many rookies?  How many picks?

Surely it should be better than this garbage, but we don't really know.

I think the trade was going to go down before the draft, so Orlando would have received those three picks in the teens that Houston had, along with maybe Kevin Martin(don't know for sure).

Wait the Lakers keep Gasol, too?

All of a sudden I'm no longer excited about Ainge's moves

Kevin Martin and three middling picks isn't much either. Afflalo and 3 picks might be better than Martin and 3 picks.

Except the 3 picks they're getting now are protected picks.

Perhaps Orlando asked for even more than what Morey put on the table?

I think it has more to do with this: superstars usually get their way in these situations.  Very rarely do they get traded to a place they don't want to go to.  Players are spoiled, have the power, and force their way to where they wanna go.  Not saying it's a good thing.
