How long is Nash's contract for? Because I feel like if he retires or leaves, Dwight won't want to come back.

Haha, what a strange trade. Hilarious (in an absurd kind of way).

Can we just give up all of our stars to LA for garbage also?
HEY I WANT STEVE BLAKE! HERE IS RONDO!

I didn't realize Andrew Bynum was such a horrible basketball player. Geez.

He's fine when he can stay on the court. He will not be able to.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I HATE this league. Two plus months until training camp and I am already massively depressed. On paper, the Lakers are good for at least 65+ wins. Same for the Heat. The NBA -- where "same as it ever was" happens. It will take Stern months to get the smile off his face after this deal.

Magic should have traded Howard and Richardson to Houston for Royce White, Jeremy Lamb and Houston's two first round picks next year. Magic clear cap space, get young cheap talent, and would have three first round picks next year. What am I missing? That has to be better than a bunch of average players and three protected draft picks.

How can they not give up Pau? How? The Lakers get these absurd trades every single time, every single year, it's **** nonsense.

They would've never given up both Pau and Bynum.  You are dreaming.

Why would they make their team worse?  The Lakers aren't stupid.  You really think two top 5-10 big men is the price for the top big man?  No way were the Lakers ever going to do that.
The point is that other teams don't have to be stupid enough to play along, and that the Lakers gave up surprisingly little to land Howard.  I mean, seriously, Bynum and the 28th pick for Howard?  It's the Gasol heist all over again.

i think this trade makes the 76ers dangerous. imagine Bynum and Hawes on the floor at the same time  :o

Yeah, that's suddenly a brutally slow lineup with limited floor spacing.

or a really huge line-up that can dominate inside and hawes is actually a decent mid-range shooter

Lakers gave up more than Bynum and a 1st.

Bynum alone prob gets you iguadala and a 1st.

The lakers ultimately are giving up the assets they would get back for Bynum , back to ORL.

ORL is getting a ton back. Better than New Jersey deal, though they now lack a true center now.

So why did Stern, who fixes everything  ::), put LeBron, Wade, and Bosh in a mediocre market like Miami?  Look up their market size, media rankings, etc...  Why didn't he put them in Chicago or New York?

If David Stern really fixes the NBA, he is pretty dumb.

And if David Stern really fixes the NBA, why do so many people here get excited about summer league and people like Jason Collins?
