  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
The kid is a headcase. But like my argument with Dray Blatche, with the right team where there are veterans who can tell them the right things to do, their talent could be maximized.

I would not mind giving up the farm on Cousins. I'm talking 3 1st rounders (this year and futures), 2nd rounders and Chris Wilcox and Greg Steimsma (as much as like this kid). Cousins is a beast in the making.

The only way Cousins ends up in Boston is if Ainge would be willing to move Rondo for him and only Danny can answer that. Any other trade scenario is plain silly. This isn't the NBA anymore where Red Auerbach used to fleece teams. You don't trade talent for junk.

cousins is another josh smith. looks awesome on an individual level, but poor marks on a team level. I would not want to try to build a future around that guy.

forget Cousins, what the deal with Hassan Whiteside? He is sitting on Sacramento bench rotting away. If you talking about potential this kid is it. I heard he gained 25lbs of muscle since his rookie year. Athletically he is freak for 7footer. In couple year, i think he has potential to be next DeAndre Jordan.

We don't have the chips - if he's available for a couple mid to late 2012 1st's (our only assets) then someone else can do better. If we did, well I think getting a punk like that could end nasty. KG can't keep a guy in line when he can't even play as well as him - young punks like that always think they are the best - it'd only be worse to find out he's right when the old man can't keep up.

Maybe, maybe KG or Paul or Ray or Doc can get through to him. Maybe he can keep it in line enough to become a good teammate AND an All-star (ala Rasheed Wallace). If so that kind of presence at the 5 would be amazing for this team. As good as we were with Shaq we'd be getting more from Cousins, it'd certainly put us back as 3rd team in the East for sure, with a chance to knock off MIA or CHI perhaps.

I guess I'd be excited for it to work if we could get him, but I remind myself we have no assets.. Fun to dream, but the roster now is likely our team for all 2012.

I'd love to see a Demarcus take-down and stare-down on Lebron, Wade or Kobe!

Wow. Wonder what the Kings will want for him. No doubt Danny will take a look at this; what do you guys think?

In my opinion, KG would be the perfect mentor for him. I see a bit of KG in Cousins - he just needs to channel some of that passion in a positive manner.

No, No, No !!!

this kid is a complete head-case and definitely NOT Celtic material.

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

"The Boston Celtics would be a good environment for Cousins, and perhaps he could learn enough from old dogs Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett (despite his antics in games, Garnett has never been a problem for coaches and set a tone of defensive accountability from the moment he arrived in Boston) this season to be a building block for when the team moves forward without the Big Three."

But Ricky Davis was? As well as countless others, lol... Danny cares about talent at the end of the day, and if you can get dude, you got to go for it...

JJJ plus our 2 1sts this year honestly

I'd love him in Green not enough to give up Rondo for him though

Crazier things have happened... some how the Heat were only able to get two second round picks for Michael Beasley, the 2nd overall pick going into his third year. When a player shows serious maturity issues like Cousins, teams seem to be very reluctant to trade much of value for them. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I hope we pull off a Beasley :D! Second rounds for DeMarcus Cousins would be insane.

Reckon Wilcox + a huge load of picks would do it?

Edit:
I hope Sacramento is anxious to unload the headcase. I'm really excited about potentially getting him now.

hes a headcase, but he's 21 and a legit center who was probably the best prospect in the draft last year (as far as potential).  I'd love to get him if we could get him for cheap.  That's the kind of guy you take a chance on... On one hand he has superstar potential.  On the other hand he could be out of the league in a few years due to his attitude.  It's the same reason I'd STILL be willing to sign Greg Oden... huge potential reward is worth the risk... and its not like Dwight Howard or Chris Paul is walking through that door.

Sacramento HAS to be a HORRIBLE environment for Cousins.  Boston would be ideal.  Who is his mentor there?  The only two guys over 30 on that team are Salmons and Garcia.  Would being around Ray, KG and Paul be enough to get him straight?... maybe not.  I think at worst he's probably a rich man's Kendrick Perkins if he can shut his mouth and play hard.
