Wow. Wonder what the Kings will want for him. No doubt Danny will take a look at this; what do you guys think?

In my opinion, KG would be the perfect mentor for him. I see a bit of KG in Cousins - he just needs to channel some of that passion in a positive manner.

If true, he may be the youngest player ever to demand a trade.

So many glaring pros and cons with this kid...this could be very interesting.

He has always had an attitude, that being said if you can get him for cheap then you would have to make the deal. I'm sure they could get a better package than Bradley and the Clippers 1st but I would offer that up and see what happens. Stranger stuff has happened in sports

I know there's a snowballs chance in hell that we could get him, but it would be an awesome pickup. Where do you think he'll land, if he gets traded?

Here's the statement from the Kings:

Quote
SACRAMENTO, CALIF., Jan. 1, 2012 -- “Whenever a new season begins, in any sport, there is great hope that everything will progress in only a steady, upward direction. As we all know, it seldom happens like that in this life!

As coaches, we can only ask that our players do everything they can to improve themselves as individuals and teammates. If they do this with all their hearts, we live with the results.

Everything that happens on a team does not become known to the public. This is how it should be. However, when a player continually, aggressively, lets it be known that he is unwilling/unable to embrace traveling in the same direction as his team, it cannot be ignored indefinitely.

DeMarcus Cousins has demanded to be traded. In the best interest of our team as we go forward, he has been directed by me, with the support of management, to stay home from the New Orleans game tonight.”

Not sure I'd want a guy like that on the Celtics, but it could be worth it.

One team that I think would be perfect for Cousins is Washington. They could swap big men in need of a change (Blatche, or maybe McGee) and Cousins gets reunited with John Wall.

To be fair, even though Cousins is a pain in the ass, there is something to be said about him being blocked in terms of reaching his potential. Last year, Dalembert had a great season and Cousins was left on the bench and probably didn't play as much as he should have. This year, he has the spot but also has Landry, Thompson, etc... Either way, the talent is there and Doc is a much more respected coach than Westphal, perhaps he needs to be on a veteran team where someone like KG will put him in line. Then again, I could also see a scenario where Rondo and him become toxic for the team.

Going to be real tough to trade for him as he is still on his rookie deal

Not really, but given that both contracts are expiring there may be a slim chance :D.

  • Rondo = Good
I can't entirely blame him . . . look at that team and how it is constructed and try to tell me that a young big man is going to thrive.

The dude is supremely talented and needs touches yet he's on a team full of gunner combo guards.  Not a single passer on that team.
