The Celtics have no offer for DMC. None. Best asset they can offer is a couple first round picks (Clippers and their own). Not gonna cut it.
I imagine the Rockets are gonna try to get in on this.
I wouldn't mind Cousins, but NO on trading any of the big 3...Obviously not involving rondo as well, the rest I'm fine with
The interesting part is that Ainge has long coveted Tyreke Evans. Although Evans' game has slipped a bit, he is still very young (21) and is still under his rookie contract. Cousins & Evans for Rondo is something to think about it, especially if you're able to land a 1st rd pick in the process.
I thought about this, but ask yourself . . . would the Kings really give up Cousins AND Evans (who, let's remember, averaged 20-5-5 in his rookie season) for Rondo?
Conversely, would the C's make that trade? I'm not sure they would, since I don't think they'd be a better team right now. Evans is not really a passer at all. Not a guy you want running this offense.
That's exactly it, you can make a case for both sides, which is the definition of a fair trade.
Why for us?
We land Evans to replace Rondo and although not the passer Rondo is, he makes us a tough matchup for most teams. 1's will probably chase Ray around as most are just too small for Evans. Cousins is a buy low with huge potential. The Kings did themselves no favors for trade value by making this public. That said, is there a better team to guide Cousins down the right path?
Why for Kings?
Obviously they feel Cousins is destroying their team. If not, why make this public and send him home? Evans has regressed since his rookie year, albeit due to injury woes. Rondo provides them with a pure PG on a multi-year deal, which can be the catalyst for the fastbreak O they're built to play.
