Not a signing...

Forward Bismack Biyombo is free to join the Charlotte Bobcats after agreeing to pay a buyout clause to release him from his contract with Spanish club Fuenlabrada.

He will not play in Monday night’s preseason opener against the Hawks because he hasn’t had a chance to practice with the team, coach Paul Silas said.

Silas said Biyombo would begin to practice Tuesday and would play in Thursday night’s game at Atlanta.

Fuenlabrada said on Monday that Biyombo had agreed to pay the $1.5 million clause that will free him from the remaining two years of his contract.

Cuban isn't shy about acquiring potential problems:

Odom,
Delonte
VC
Sean Williams

I don't see Odom's reality show as much of a problem, except Cuban might be jealous that he doesn't have his own. Delonte really needs his own reality show too.

Cuban has picked up a lot of talent on the cheap this summer, with Brandan Wright, VC, Delonte and now Sean Williams.

Nick Young has decided to accept his 1-year, $3.7 million qualifying offer from Wizards, sources say

@MrMichaelLee

Wow I really thought he was going to get overpaid by someone.  Not a bad signing for the Wiz.

He'll get overpaid by somebody, but it will be next season, when the market for SGs is very thin.

Very true.  The SG position is one that you always take for granted but going forward it is maybe the thinnest position in the league, behind C. Some of these guys are going to get overpaid like Centers do now.

He did as well as he could without resigning Chandler.  I think they are going to be better on offense with Odom but I don't think they have any chance to repeat.  Tyson Chandler was the 2nd best player on the team and the catalyst for their defense.

They will go back to being an offensive team and therefore won't make it far in the playoffs.

An actual trade: OKC sends Byron Mullens to CHA for a 2nd rounder and cash:

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/217669/Bobcats_Acquire_Mullens_From_Thunder_For_2013_2nd_Round_Pick

Quote
"While we believe that Byron will be a productive player in this league, it became apparent that in the near future it would be difficult for him to continue his development and have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our club because of the current make-up of our roster,” Presti said. “This trade allows us the opportunity to create both future financial and roster flexibility while providing us with an additional draft pick in 2013."

OKC clears just under $1.3 million more in cap space. If ESPN's numbers are right, that gives them about $4.5 million in space.

OKC gains a small TPE of just under $1.3 million.

There was an intersting video I saw about Mullins playing basketball with inmates over the lockout.  Pretty cool to see.

Anyways, yet another big guy who should have stayed in college and refined his game.  I really hope the NBA raises the draft age or something just so these bigs have extra time in college.  I think the weaker competition in the post is huge to building their confidence and their offensive games.

If there was ever a player who isn't a superduperstar that I would want to replace Ray Allen, Aaron Afflalo is that player. Love his game and Denver got a steal.

Kwame Brown just got 7 mil and Chuck Hayes was going to get the full MLE.Afflalo is a much better all around player than both of them.
