The Sacramento Kings have claimed ex-Net Travis Outlaw with a bid off amnesty waivers, league sources tell Y! Sports.

- Adrian Wojnarowski

They can pay him like $1 million for each of the next several years, right?  I think he had four years left, so I think they'd be within their rights to claim him for each of those four years.  However, I'm not 100% positive.

From Sam Amick's Twitter feed:

Quote
Source says Kings' winning bid was a four-year, $12 million deal for SF Travis Outlaw. He had a 5 yr, $35 million deal with Nets

Nets caught a nice break.

I wonder how the bidding works. If one team bids 2 years $6M and another team bids 4 years $10M, do they go for  the most total money, or most money per year?

My guess would be, most total. That helps out the team using the amnesty clause.

I would imagine that teams only bid a per annum (first year) amount.

And then that that figure is spread proportionally throughout the contract.

looks like the Warriors are trading Amundson to the Pacers for Brandon Rush:

Excellent trade for Golden State although I expect they are going to under-utilize B.Rush. Unfortunately. Stuck behind Monta Ellis and Klay Thompson. Perhaps used out of position as a three. Not a good home for Rush.

But trading a third string PF for a slightly above average two guard is a very nice business.

I agree, it's a good bargain for GS, although I was hoping Rush would land on a team that will utilize him more. He goes from being stuck behind guys in Indiana to being stuck behind Ellis and Thompson in GS.

Great! I'm glad he didn't go to LA or Miami.

It'll be very interesting to see what type of shape and what level of performance Baron Davis can provide the Knicks with. They don't need a huge amount of him to turn them into a legitimate contract. Just solid starting PG level play.

The Knicks might have just become a legitimate threat in the East.

Source says Baron Davis' deal with NY is - predictably -for one year with the $2.5 million exception the Knicks were limited to.

Smart contract.  It allows them to use Davis as a placeholder until Nash comes next year.  (At least, that's my prediction).

Oh boy, I'd rather they kept Kenyon until March. Gives Boston a better chance of nabbing him.

If they release him now, teams with their MLE leftover can easily out-bid Boston.

Lakers spent theirs. Miami too. New York. Chicago. Dallas. Neither Orlando, Oklahoma or Memphis are likely to be in the market for someone like Kenyon. San Antonio?

San Antonio works. Kenyon would be a very nice addition to that squad.

Not a signing: Darrell Arthur is thought to be lost for the season following a serious Achilles injury.
