People are making a lot of assumptions here.  As far as I understood it, we were in the running for a Chris Paul trade until the Lakers trade was shot down by the league.

Despite what all the "sources" on twitter accounts everywhere say about this, that and the other, I'm not going to claim to have any real knowledge of what went down in all these negotiations regarding Chris Paul over this aborted off-season.

I don't think anyone is saying they knew for sure what was happening behind the scenes but if you follow the media stories over the last couple of times that Rondo has been shopped, it's pretty apparent that Rondo isn't nearly as valued by some GMs as he is here in Boston or by many on this board.

There are numerous reports of New Orleans showing very little to zero interest in Rondo. Indiana wanted him but wasn't about to part with Paul George to get him. Paul George?!?! Really?!?!?! And as much as the Celtics shopped him for  a third party,no one bit. Why? Because great young PGs in the NBA are becoming a dime a dozen.

Williams, Paul, Rose, Rondo, Westbrook, Wall, Irving, Conley, Curry, Parker, Lowry, Holiday, Lawson, Evans, Rubio, Stuckey etc, etc. I think the list of teams without a great PG is shorter than the list with a great PG.

Conjecture? Made up stuff by media people looking for a headline? Possibly, but these same reporters have a long history of accurately reporting the news and having deep connections internally in most if not all NBA cities. I'm pretty sure they aren't going to ruin their reputations as quality reporters by stating such and such GM isn't interested in Rondo.

Ha, ha!  You said "reputations as quality reporters."

Bulls officially announce the signing of Rip Hamilton. It's a three-year deal with two fully guaranteed.

Very nice move by Chicago.

Not a signing, but a negotation:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7351922/rodney-stuckey-detroit-pistons-bargaining-impasse-sources-say

That's too much money. I don't think Stuckey is worth it.

8-9 mil for Stuckey?

I don't blame him though...not after the kind of contracts Dumars handed out to Gordon and Charlie V.
I can see $8 million for Stuckey. Seems reasonable.

Paying a little for potential but no reason Stuckey can't earn that contract.

Wow, that is a lot of money for Landry.

One year deal (pay increase for short contract) I suppose.

I would have loved to have seen Landry go to Portland. He would have been great with Aldridge and Camby.

Good signing. E.Clark has a good future ahead of him.

Orlando is a good place for him to learn his trade. Under SVG and alongside Dwight Howard.

NOH is trying to keep as much financial flexibility as it can before the franchise is sold.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that Jack/ Gordon/ Ariza/ Landry/ Okafor is the worst starting line up ever.

I do like this trend of short years/big money.  Greater flexibility for all parties involved.

Nope ... Solid team. No reason that lineup can't go .500.

What is their bench like now after the trade?
