Sounds like Rudy is going to get stuck behind Afflalo.

Too bad for Rudy. He should try to return to Europe. His career in the NBA just isn't going well.

Proposed Mayo-McRoberts deal officially dead, source tells CA. Mayo told this morning that he won't be traded anywhere

@CAGrizBlog

Excellent news for Indiana. That was a backwards move.

Aha. Pacers are making an offer to Jamal Crawford.

Sources w/knowledge of deal say Pacers have two-year offer out to Jamal Crawford worth $10M with out to return to free agency next summer

@ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein
Pacers, though, could still be outbid by Wolves, who want Crawford to play 2 guard next to Rubio with Barea completing three-guard rotation

If we're talking about a 6th man role, I'd prefer Crawford to Mayo, I think.

Stupid bloody Pacers ... just got out of a bind with OJ Mayo and about the make same bloody mistake with Jamal Crawford

Urghh

I like Corey Brewer on that Denver team.

A George Karl type of player. Very athletic, forces a lot of turnovers, likes to run.

C.Brewer will give them good depth on the wing while Wilson Chandler is in China.

The Lakers has signed Josh McRoberts too.

To replace Lamar Odom. Similar players, except that McBob is a lousy rebounder, a very soft defender and can only convert dunks or open stationary set jump-shots.

I predict Laker fans have a new whipping boy.  They were frustrated with Odom's play and McRoberts is like a much less versatile and productive Odom.

Luke Walton hasn't yet been amnestied or retired due to his back problems.

Sources tell ESPN that Mavs are in advanced discussions to deal Rudy Fernandez to Denver Nuggets for future draft considerations

- Marc Stein

I heard that Karl wants Rudy as a starter? What does that mean for Afflalo's future in Denver?

Could be a bluff to drive Afflalo's price down.  He's in free agent limbo right now where a lot of teams were interested, but are waiting for the big pieces to settle in.  By the time those guys are signed, there might not be much competition for Denver.

Which is a long way of saying I doubt Karl really thinks Rudy's better than Afflalo.  ;)
Afflalo isn't going to be worth the price tag he'll command in this market.

Better to let him go and find a cheap replacement. I truly hope that is what Denver is doing here.

Josh McRoberts is very nice signing for LA. Kudos to them.

Good glue guy. Nice defensive range and solid overall D at PF. Good rebounder. Nice passing. He is a jump-shot away from being a top 20-25 PF in this league ... unfortunately, it looks like he'll never get that jumper, but he'll still be a solid role player without it. Just not a high quality one.

Sam Amick: Kwame Brown has agreed to a one-year, $7 million deal with Golden State, according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein. about 8 minutes ago

WOW!

Not wild about the fit in GSW with David Lee. It's okay I guess. Short term fix.

A one year contract is fine for $7 million. If it was a 4-5 year deal, it'd be bad. But one year, minimal risk. Good addition to their team. Could get them to .500.

But if DeAndre Jordan is worth $10 mill next year, Kwame is worth 7, especially for just one season.

Yeah, Kwame > DeAndre ... at least he was last season. Should be close this year too.

McRoberts isn't a good rebounder. His rebounding rate in the last 2 years was 13.2% and 13.3%. And it's not like he was playing alongside good rebounders. Mediocre.

I also disagree he's a good defender. Somewhat soft. He's athletic and explosive, but has very poor lateral quickness.

And his set jumper is okay. He just needs lots of space to take it off.

Very good passer and ball-handler though.
