Because Gasol is better than Scola/Martin.  Nowhere near as flawed as either player.

I'm having a harder time seeing why NO would do this.  They'd be akin to those mediocre Indy teams under OB with Dunleavy and Murphy. Locking in mediocrity.

Gasol is quite a bit better than either player.  He's not better than both combined.
