i think they are getting him rest and wanting him to slim down...vinnie relax...season will be fine . this is the deepest boston has ever been with the big three and they have never been more versitile. let them get the new parts integrated

I love when the king of game thread panic tells someone to relax --  ;D  Anyway, Danny might be succeeding selling a lot of you land in Florida when he says JO and Shaq will be fine, but he is not selling me. The guy has missed six weeks of basketball. I hope the Danny believers are right.

So Shaq was going to miss 2-3 games and his foot is still bothering him and it has been six weeks since he played in a real game. But don't worry, Danny is confident that Shaq is going to be just fine.

And JO was going to rest for 4-5 weeks, because that is what his knee required and then he was going to come back and play with no restrictions -- that is what Dannny says. Oh wait, three weeks later, JO needs surgery and that is going to cure all ills. And again, since Danny says JO is going to be ready to contribute by the playoffs, I am sure it is true.

This season is going to go up in smoke on the backs of two big guys who are not going to be healthy. So, what does Danny do, he adds offense. Maybe he hopes to outscore teams all the way to championship 18.

Not sure if Perk would have gotten healthy, but at least it gave them a third option and a guy who could clog the middle.

Well, we really know very little about all the injuries.

We have guys who can simply clog the middle in BBD, Krstic and Murphy.

I assume these injuries will have no real impact on Shaq in the playoffs, but he is obviously easily susceptible to injuries, so they will need to baby him. Fortunately, the playoffs schedule is well suited for getting the big guy rest.

JO is the huge question mark here because of his all-around game. If he returns relatively healthy, I honestly don't believe we will miss Perk all that much (on the court).

i still don't think they make the move unless they felt certain they would be ready for the playoffs

Looks like his return is likely to be pushed back again.

I think come playoffs, Krstic will be the starting center, JO among the backups off the bench.

does anyone else feel this is an "elaborate rouge"?  (a great quote from the move midway.)

i remember the days when the phantom "hellenic college back injuries" would occur just at the right time when some one needed to go on the ir as another was returning.

the team is doing great right now.  three game lead on miami and chicago.  why bring shaq back until he's really needed?

me thinks there is something funny going on....

i think danny and doc know they are in a soft spot of their schedule. if we were in the playoffs tonight...i bet he would play. honestly they don't need him right now. they should be able to beat the bucks with what they have...then they get 2 days off and west and baby return.

and i think last night we all saw what our close out line up is going to be...

Good point. Here's an added bonus: given the softness of the schedule we also get to give Murphy, Kristic and Green more reps, in addition to keeping Shaq out of harm's way for as long as possible.

I hope you guys are all right.  Sounds plausible.  I want DWest to hurry back, however, so we can start resting Ray..and then Pierce and KG too.

And I will repeat my mantra -- they were also sure that KG was coming back in 2008-2009
