I'm not going to submit a vote for this, I'll leave it to Edgar.

Early suggestion for the next CB Draft - let co-GMs vote again? The only argument I'd ever understood against it, was the rare advantage gained from a second guaranteed vote in regular season standings and playoff match-ups. Now that voting for one's own team has been disallowed (a change for the good) I'd like to think the more participation the better?
The regular season voting wasn't the real issue, the problem is when you get to specific playoff match ups.

The next commish can look at it, I feel its a good thing to limit all teams to one vote.

Nobody was talking about needing a backup SF before Marquis got hurt, though.  The comment that started this debate was concerning post-injury Marquis.
I was.  I'm still not thrilled with him as our backup SF.  I'd like him more as a SG.  In fact he was pretty much our backup SG (PG if you consider House a SG) before he got hurt if I'm not mistaken.  Wasn't Scals our backup SF?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Marquis spent the majority of his minutes at SF last year, although he also saw a lot of SG time.  The team was definitely more effective with Daniels playing SF rather than SG.

Yeah, he played there after TA came back.

Obviously he was better playing with Tony and Nate/Finley than Eddie and Scal.

Did you look at the link?

Tony wasn't in any of the 8 most frequent lineups Marquis played in, and Nate was only in one of them.  Marquis was at his most effective when he was substituting for Pierce, and playing alongside Ray.

Yes.  Clearly he plays better with a starter(s), that goes without saying.  And of the top 8 he was playing SG in half of them.  What I meant to say was he played the SF in the full 2nd unit when Tony came back.

My rankings:

East:

Chicago
Milwaukee
NY Knicks
Washington
Indiana
Orlando
Toronto
Miami
Atlanta
Cleveland
Boston
NJ
Charlotte
Detroit
Philadelphia

West:

Utah
Sacramento
LA Clippers
Phoenix Gorrilaz
Minnesota
Denver
La Lakers
GS Warriors
Houston
Oklahoma City
Dallas
San Antonio
Nawlins
Memphis
Portland

I must emphasize that these are regular season rankings.  I think Lebron owns regular season games.  While I (humbly!) rank my team 5th in terms of regular season wins, I don't want that to be confused.  I invested some decent picks on players like Derek Fisher and Rasheed who were drafted strictly to contribute in the playoffs (if I make it).  I think my team is one of the strongest (if not the strongest) in the league for perimeter defense.  There is really only one East team that I feel worried about matching up with in the playoffs.

Teams 3-9 in the west are tough to rank, I feel like it's a big cluster there.

action thanks for posting you rankings (by that I mean putting me first) :)

I think you got the teams right in the east, though I disagree a bit about the order.

question, who is the one playoff team you're worried about in the east?

From my perspective:

Most underrated:  Atlanta

Most overrated:  Nashville (Orlando)

Most underrated by me:  New Orleans

Atlanta underrated?  I just don't see who creates any offense for anybody on this team except Durant for himself.  What happens when Durant rests?  They could explode shooting some games, maybe even fairly frequently, except this team has very little defense to go along with it.  They have stiffs (like Brand) off the bench who will be simply out hustled by other benches who have energetic players busting their butts for more playing time.  Just my opinion.

Well, IP, if I said who the team was, then I'd be putting myself at a severe disadvantage when trying to defend my team against them if the matchups so happen to fall that way.  So, I'm not that dumb to name the team.   :P

After further consideration, I should bump NYK down.  I was thinking of them at their full potential, but really, Paul George is a rookie, Oden has been hurt often, KMart and Hill are kind of old.  With that all considered, they should be bumped down.  I don't know where to though.

I also might like Miami over Toronto for the regular season.  Sometimes it slips me how shallow Toronto will be at 4/5 until February.  I like Miami to pile on some regular season wins outscoring teams.

per your perceived playoff nemesis: fair enough.

as for new york, miami, and toronto, I agree.

new york won't have the 3rd best record in the conference, but they'll make the playoffs.

toronto is weak even if perkins returns healthy, and could well be overtaken by miami.

I don't buy the whole LeBron automatically equals best record thing.  There are other superstars out East like Kobe and Wade who are just as good as LeBron and they've got great teams.  I think Chicago is definitely a team worthy of the playoffs but I think there are several better teams in the East.

Very little defense?

Hinrich and Butler are good wing defenders, Durant is no matador, Varejao is one of the best big man defenders in the league.  Also don't count out Okur according to these statistics.

Please note: that the GM of the New Orleans Buccaneers actually fully expects Lou Amundson to sign in the NBA.

On an unrelated note:

Points allowed per possession in the post (courtesy of Synergy Sports).

Let me know if there's interest in players 21 through 40-ish.

Also Durant will be playing 75-80% of the time.  When he's out the team oriented offense will generate open looks with so many shooters on this team.

I think a lot of people are underrating the Hawks.  Durant is a superstar (have you seen him in the Worlds?) and he's surrounded with good chemistry players who complement the team game in a very balanced manner.

I agree. I think the Hawks have been easily one of the most under rated teams in this draft. They have what appears to be would be a great team defense and plus defenders at 4 starting positions and from at least one or two players from the bench. Their rebounding is good. They have one of the league's elite superduperstars.

I don't see what's not to like.

No primary wing defender, a small backcourt that is vulnerable on the backboards and defensively, and overall the lack of a scorer other than Durant.
