Some changes after today:

PG: Tony Parker, Ramon Sessions
SG: Aron Afflalo, Caron Butler
SF: Danny Granger
PF: Boris Diaw, J.J. Hickson, Jonas Jerebko
C:  Sam Dalembert, Zaza Pachulia

The Diaw acquisition helps me hedge my bets in case Hickson is not ready for prime time. He'll help facilitate on the offense, knock down open shots, and stretch the defense.

Afflalo moves to the starting lineup, allowing Butler to back up both the 2 and the 3. We'll welcome his scoring punch off the bench, while Hickson, Pachulia, and Jerebko bring energy, hustle, and grit.

Roster is still a work in progress. Word is Granger and Afflalo are both flashing back to high school French class. Ooh la la.

Lucky, are you concerned that Diaw looked in miserable shape in the Wolrd Championships?

I'll post my team again. I think I've probably got one more move in me though. I think I got a good shot at winning this thing.

Dwight Howard / Greg Monroe
Antawn Jamison / Al Harrington / Ed Davis
John Salmons / Hedo Turkoglu
Wes Matthews / Rudy Fernandez
Baron Davis

Can you defend the PF spot?  You have a ton of shooting there, but no defender.

Can you get a backup PG capable of starting at this point?  Is it easy to trust Davis' healthy to last the season?

Answer those two questions, I think your team is set up for a deep playoff run.

A lot of perimeter offense.

Do you have a low post threat that can take advantage of the space created?

To much like the real Mavs.  I can see them winning a ton of games, but are a threat for an early out in the playoffs.

The Pistons as of today

Head Coach Patrick Ewing

Pg Wall
SG Azubuike
SF Marvin Williams
PF Al Jefferson
C  Hibbert

Bench
6th man: SG Ben Gordon

What needs do you see (besides an extra SF even though it will be a 15 or less minute job and a little experience at the 4/5)

Celtics are looking pretty good I think and i got some picks in the 10th 11th and 12 tp try to add some hiding talent.

pg:Rondo, Bynum
Sg:Rush, Smith
SF Outlaw
PF:Landry
C:Bogut, Mohammad

Your starters are strong except SG.  I think that will be what keeps your team from going far.

Also, I think you need one more big offensive threat to take advantage of Rondo's strength.

Answer those two questions, I think your team is set up for a deep playoff run.

As far as PG's go, our team is exploring a few options at backup PG. I think we're more interested in getting a combo guard, as ball handling responsibilities coming off the bench would be given to Hedo & Rudy. Similarily, in the event that B-Diddy does need to take some time off I'd probably move Hedo to the starting lineup, Salmons to the 2 guard and have Matthews be our 6th man.

Defensively, our power forwards aren't the strongest on the surface. It's something I'm looking into, but I also expect some contributions from our rookies (both lottery picks) when it comes to energy and defense, particularily with Ed Davis.

Will the two rookie big men get enough time to develop on the court behind three vets?

In all likelihood, yes. I haven't done the minutes yet, but I'd imagine there's going to be enough times where we go with a bigger lineup that they'll get something like 5-10 minutes per game.
