Sign me up for Chris' idea of Leandro Barbosa idea. If Amare signs elsewhere shredding $6+ million in salary would go a long way towards opening up enough cap space for a high level free agent for Phoenix. Also, I think Barbosa is the perfect type of combo guard to pull off the bench for this team. It would mean the end of Nate, but I'm not losing any sleep over that.
I'd love to have Barbosa, he's overpaid for what he can do but we need a scorer on the bench.
No interest in Barbosa.

I think we're putting too much faith in the powers of mediocre scorers off the bench and how much they'll improve the Celtics offense + team overall.
What will improve this team's offense then? Our offensive struggles cost us dearly in the end. :(

Sheed for Michael Beasley, straight up.

Supposedly, Danny inquired about him around the trade deadline so I'm hoping it's in the back of his head. We just need official word on what Wallace is gonna do.

I know people keep whining about Beasley's off the court issues, but the talent is there. He just needs to be around focused veterans (KG and Paul, anyone?) and out of Miami Beach.

Rondo + Beasley = nice future.

In all honesty, I want this trade to happen so bad and I've already envisioned it so much that I'll be incredibly bummed if it doesn't happen.

I would love to get beasly without giving up any of the big 4. There is no way Miami trades him straight up for Sheed. It would probably take Sheed + #19 and maybe a future pick or BBD. I know Miami is not in love with him, but he was the # 2 overall pick a few years ago.

Beasly would be a perfect backup for PP and KG who he can learn under. He could get down both PP and KG's to about 30 a game, with beasly playing about 30 minutes too.
I'd love to get Beasley too, I don't like the idea of him playing SF all that much though.

Still I think he'll get moved soon enough, but for a better package than the Celtics will likely want to offer.
I don't understand why you don't like the idea of him playing SF?
I thought the playoff series against Miami definitively showed that while playing the 4 Beasley can only guard an undersized player.
I think he is quick enough to play the 3.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Nothing. The offense is what it is.

Add a shooter on the wing and the spacing will improve a bit ... but it is what it is.

The Celtics should concentrate on improving the rebounding. That the easiest area to effect + the area that will have the most impact. Secondarily, the need to focus on the defense ... and outside of adding a shooter on the wing, I wouldn't pay any attention to the offense.

The offense isn't going to be fixed by a role player. The problem is with the stars and their declining abilities. Can't fix that.

The Celtics are going to have to find a way to win with a mediocre offense and the only way to do that is to be an elite defensive team (which they are) + and an elite rebounding team (which they are not).

I think he can be a great talent at the 4, he couldn't guard KG or Rasheed but he can be a very good 4 against most other match ups.

I have less faith in him moving his feet against many of the SFs in the league.

I would love to have Beasley, but more reallisticly is Sheed to Sixers for Nocioni. Nocioni is a little overpaid, but his contract ends in 2012 so it won't affect our abillity to be a major players in 2012/13 free agency.
With Nocioni we would solve a PP backup, so we can use MLE to go big (Haywood) and use draft (with another first round pick) to select one scorer (Crawford) and one big (Alabi).

Rondo/Robinson
Allen/Crawford/TA
Pierce/Nocioni/TA
Garnett/Davis/Nocioni
Haywood/Alabi/Davis till Perkins get well.

Hidayet Turkoglo would be a great addition since toronto is looking to move him at his request. Sheed and Baby for him would work. He plays four positions has ton of energy and can defend with a great offensive game as well.

'Sheed + Big Baby
for
Beasley, James Jones, #18

Miami cleans house and gets back a PF. They want cap room for Beasley, this unloads Jones as well.

We get the best player in the deal (Beasley) and now have 2 picks in the 1st round. Jones is a serviceable 10th man / shooter off the bench. His contract stinks but it won't really hurt us the next couple of years if we intend to still contend. At least he can shoot.

End of the day, Celtics have live bodies and options to move around the draft. Beasley + 2 1st rounders than can play + Jones would be 4 players to help fill out the roster while we worry about bigger issues with MLE (center?)

I dunno, i dont think Miami bites on it, it sounds too good for us and were on the east coast with them so they wouldn't wanna see us prosper with Beas.

I'm not a huge Hedo fan, don't thing he's the man, but could still be the man that contributes something unique on a champion-level team.  He'd be a great player on a team like ours that can share the ball, and his length on the wing would be tremendous.

They aren't going to take on a contract like Hedo's.  They want to gun for another title run next season, but aren't going to kill the potential rebuilding process along the way.  Dude's got four years left on his contract ($12M per the last two seasons); Celtics are going to be very reluctant to take on any salary obligations that extend beyond KG's deal, much less THAT much money for a guy that's virtually guaranteed to be in serious decline by then.

Given that Rondo will still be under contract, as will likely be Pierce and/or Perk, add Hedo's contract to the other inevitable players we accumulate and there's no prayer we're under the cap for four seasons.  Danny's not doing that, madate is to win but not at the cost of not being able to really rebuild for that long.

OK.

How about draft picks and short contract?

Hedo Turkoglu is a very poor fit on this Celtics team. He needs to be able to dominate the basketball because his only high quality talent is his playmaking ability ... and that does not mesh well with Rajon Rondo because he needs the ball to take advantage of his playmaking. Both players need to be surrounded by scorers and finishers to maximize their talents.

Hedo Turkoglu would be a role player for the Celtics. Like he was in San Antonio. A worse version of what Toronto had last year.

I think Miami are more willing to get rid of Beas than people think, and will take cap space for him. Allegedly, they offered him to the Nets for Keyon Dooling - who has a partially guaranteed contract which would give them more cap.

Interesting article on Beasley:

So Danny was on WEEI, and said that he expects Sheed to Retire.  Any thoughts on what this might mean, and what the liklihood is of us being able to move him?

CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16
