Iverson off the bench? Positive role player and a lockeroom asset?

Please God have to do this would be my dream to see Iverson in the NBA again in Boston with KG, Ray, Pierce ...

AI can still play at high level, scoring 15 points and 5 assists to give, we are all sure.

Iverson would be the best replacement as a point guard.

STILL THE ANSWER, YOU ARE THE BEST,24368 POINTS, DO NOT FORGET IT, HE WILL BE A HALL OF FAME.

id usually say no, but i really think he probably has reformed a bit

and i think if he does come back this is about the only team that can do it, because he respect KG, Pierce and Ray

the celtics can probably get him for the min, a low risk/high reward

it would help keep the starters minutes down

play iverson and west at the backup pg and sg, and keep ray allens minutes down to about 30 mpg

iverson plays around 22-25 minutes

and jeff green plays about 30 mpg in place of pierce and KG

then use the MLE on Kenyon Martin and another center( Pryzbilla or someone of that ilk)

That he goes to interviews high?

I doubt he'll be the first Celtic.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I wouldn't want him on my team if he paid us the MLE to play here.

Instead of the redundant RE: Iverson Thread....

I propose a:

RE:  Latrine Sprewell
RE:  Tracy McGrady
RE:  Ricky Davis
RE:  Mark Blount

.....Or name your favorite tanking malcontent who can no longer play.

Iversons era in the NBA is over.  No more teams with one player that wants the rock and everyone to get out of his way.  Teams are being built now.  TEAMS!!  Thats the other guys that have to practice but he doesnt bc hes the star.

I dont buy for a minute that he wants some meager role on a championship team to resume his career.  Iverson has always been about himself, his spotlight, his attention, his starting spot and how many touches hes getting.

This may sound harsh and a little over the top but I hope Iverson never plays another minute in the NBA again.

Right now I think for most people who really do follow the game know he is a great example of what kind of professional young players should not want to grow up to be like.

Allen Iverson - character issues aside - is not an NBA talent anymore. His defense is abysmal, he's lost the ability to finish at the rim, and his mid range game has deteriated.

I truly believe that he is at the point in his career that he is finally willing to be a role player off the bench and willing to sacrifice for the good of the team. I'm sure he realizes the bad taste he left in the collective NBA mouth when he left.

However, I don't believe his skill is worth giving a roster spot to at this point. His style of play, even if he commits to passing the ball, just isn't conducive to championship basketball, whether as a role player or as a starter. He's never been a particularly good defender and for a guy who relies on quickness, as a 38 year old, has got to be slower now. Combine that with the number of injuries he's had over the last five years or so, the skill no longer outweighs the risk his ego would bring.

There are only a few guys I NEVER want to see in a Celtic's uniform.  He tops that list.

Someone mentioned him earlier, so I decided to check his stats from 2009-2010.  They are really NOT bad.  Could we use 12-14 points, 4 assists and less than 2 TO's, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal off the bench?  Of course we could.

I have a feeling AI will be in Green next year!!!

At first I thought,,,,,hmmmmmm   wonder if Stephen Marbury put you up to this...
Then I realized, that the real machiaveli behind this posting was non other than Antoine Walker,
Come on out 'Toine,,,we know its you!  You figured that if people thought we were getting Iverson,
they would go be up in arms, a regular Boston Tea Party, and then you could sneak in the back door of CauseWay Street
and we would be so happy to see you.

sigh,,,
