Well i must say that i am very dissapointed in that CB Nation decided a team relying so heavily on 3 rookie big men and a 210lb., 22-career-starts-under-his-belt center would ultimately have the stones in the playoffs to dismantle a team with one of, if not THE deepest groupings of talented big-men in the league.  It seems almost hypocritical since Riah's kings were left out of the playoffs for leaning so hard on a bunch of unproven rooks, yet Houston moves on to the second round.

Regardless, i had a great time over the past few weeks and hope i will be able to participate next year.  Good luck to the teams still alive in the post-season.

I agree with you, jgod.  I think Edgar's team stomps Houston in the next round.  6 rookies + 2 second years + an injured Powe + no center = a pretty questionable team.

Before we get too crazy into the East, I just wanted to thank IP and congratulate him on an excellent job putting together and fighting for his Phoenix Suns. Facing him in the first round could only make the Sonics and myself better, and I haven't been shy about acknowledging that both of us got the shaft by having to face each other in the first round. Good job IP and congratulations on a great team.

Don't sell Shaq short, Edgar.  Last time he matched up one on one with Bosh, he scored 45 points.

Quote
Shaquille O'Neal feasted on the Toronto Raptors in a dominating performance that harkened to his best days alongside Kobe in Los Angeles.

A week shy of his 37th birthday, O'Neal scored 45 points Friday night

Quote
He's just so strong and pushes guys right under the basket and gets inside," Toronto coach Jay Triano said. "We have no match for him."

Quote
The Raptors were uniquely ill-equipped after the Jermaine O'Neal trade to combat Shaq's size.

Box Score

For people thinking this is ancient history, it was about five months ago.

Shaq made 20 of 25 shots with Bosh and others guarding him.  That's ridiculous.

That matchup was by far the hardest I had to vote on.  I hated voting against IP's team.

Quite possibly.  Manu Ginobili did set his career high of 48 against Joe Johnson, though.

Yeah i hope i didn't sound too souwer grape-ish.  Congrats to Walker Wiggle who has a very nice "big three" and has always been good to deal with despite being my arch nemisis, haha.

As far as the east goes, i was suprised at just how even a lot of those matchups ended up looking.  Ultimately i couldn't leave without picking an upset - i guess i'm just a lot higher on the Nets than most people.  I love them in the half court and think they have the championship experience to survive the road journey against Toronto.  NJ's bakccourt is suspect, but i don't think Miller/Garcia would be able to exploit them entirely.  In my mind that's a 7-game series, and one that i felt Nets could steal.

I'd encourage you not to leave, jgod.  I think the other GMs would appreciate it if you gave your thoughts (and votes) the rest of the way through.  It's only a couple of more days.

Gotcha I just didnt really expect it since you voted me to finish higher than him in the east earlier in this thing.  So then when you add Homecourt into it, I was even more surprised.

Also
Career Matchup

Miller is averaging, 16.2/4.2/7.3
Fisher is averaging. 9.8/2.0/3.7

Thats some good exploitation
